Hiroto Shinohara (篠原緋呂斗 (しのはらひろと) Shinohara Hiroto^?) is the main male protagonist of this series.

Appearance[]

Hiroto has long black hair and brown eyes. He has a natural emotionless face that surprises someone who plays a game with him, as when he lies his natural poker face helps him by far.

Sarasa Saionji[]

When Hiroto got lost on his way to Eimei Private Academy on his first day on the island, he encountered a girl, namely Sarasa Saionji, a student in Sakura Academy, across a road. She helped him navigate because Hiroto did not know how to use his terminal correctly. Due to an accident, Sarasa misunderstood that Hiroto tried to violate her just for a duel. She 'forced' him to duel herself (because only the student with fewer stars can challenge the opponent). Hiroto accepted reluctantly. In the end, Hiroto defeats Sarasa despite his attempt to lose throughout the duel.

After the speech ceremony, Sarasa confronted Hiroto, questioned his motive and why he didn't reveal her real identity as Rina Akabane. In return, Hiroto revealed his lie as a fake seven-star holder. Since then, they had become companions dedicated to lying to everyone at Academy Island. He later reveals that he has been searching for a girl, whom he knew many years ago but has since disappeared on his sight, as he suspects she is on the island, and thus he comes to a pact with Rina.

In Chapter 5 of Volume 1, Sarasa tries to kiss the injured Hiroto. At the time, Hiroto felt confused because what he needed at the time was to be bandaged ASAP.

Etymology[]

The name Hiroto means "scarlet, dark red" (緋) (hi), "spine, backbone" (呂) (ro) and "Dipper" (斗) (to).
Hiroto's surname Shinohara means "dwarf bamboo" (篠) (shino) and "field, plain" (原) (hara).
