Storyline

Gaza is a 14-year-old boy who lives on the Aegean coast of Turkey. Together with his domineering father, he helps smuggle refugees from war-torn countries to Europe, giving them temporary lodgings and scant food until they attempt the crossing. Gaza dreams of escaping this life, but can't help being drawn into a dark world of immorality, exploitation and human suffering. Can you avoid becoming a monster when you've been raised by one? Onur Saylak's debut feature, adapted from the award-winning novel of the same title by Hakan Günday, one of the first novels to document the refugee crisis in Europe, "More" is the gripping story of a boy that gets to grow up in a world where there's no room for innocence. Let's write something about More
5 July 2019 | by BaddestMan26See all my reviews

Even though it is the first job of director Onur Saylak, the movie is quite successful. Ahad who is the human trafficker lives with his son in a small town of Aegean. Although Gaza wants to continue his education life , his repressive father Ahad wants to grow his son with his dirty works. Gaza who does not want to prefer this life style encounters with a new refugee who names Ahra and the events develop. The movie emphasizes both the relationship father son and the refugee problem.

In my opinion, Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan and Hayat Van Eck who play the main characters of the movie showed great performance but Tuba Büyüküstün who plays the role of a refugee girl with the character of Ahra appears in the movie too short. Moreover, the characteristic changes of the actors could be better reflected to us, but I can recommend this movie despite everything.
