Drugs are so last century. There are enough stories out there (young people cut down in their prime, famous people too) that should dissuade anyone from even trying it. This story is beyond sad.

I’m saddened to hear this…I just want to say during this pandemic there was a silent crisis of people, especially young people in NYC and LA who passed away after taking fentanyl laced cocaine. Drugs have been tainted recently, probably just as the supply of other goods because the pandemic. They did an article on it in nymag but I heard of some people in my area that have been killed by these drugs recently.

I guess I just want to say I know things are difficult right now and you may want an escape. Instead of turning to vices like drugs look to meditation and turning inwards. Pick up hobbies like running or cycling or hiking to get your mind off things and help you feel free. Even art or making mosaics or collages. Just stay away from these artificial substances bc now more than ever, they will be mixed with very bad things.

Fentanyl doesn't have a taste. It is used as a filler for some drugs if someone doesn't have all of their stash and want to cut corners, or doesn't want to use all of their drugs. Then you have some who like to experiment on the clients who get them. Various reasons.

There’s a huge fentanyl usage rate. Especially in the Midwest. It’s very sad

Coke is pretty big in LA, and is seen as a "casual" drug. You'd think it's still the 80's out here the way people do coke. And no, they don't think it's a big deal at all, a lot of people here see it in the same light as weed.

Fuquan was just having a regular friday night in LA. I haven't heard a lot about fentanyl being mixed in with coke, it's mostly been in heroin, so I understand them not expecting a high risk with the coke. It's just tragic, nearly took out all 4 of them, I hope the woman survives.

My uncle's friend passed away 2 years ago from coke being laced. Back then you didn't have to worry about coke being cut with that crap. Another friend had coke laced with pcp and ended up trying to kill himself.

I laughed way too hard at Marlon's Plan B joke. I understand why it makes a lot of folks cringe, but I also understand humor as a coping mechanism- it's how I do.

No tellin if the Fentanyl was accidentally cut in or on purpose. Speedballs (coke+heroin/fentanyl) have always been popular in comedy circles and have killed quite a few celebrities.

That part. Like 2 days ago, one of our patients told us that he went cold turkey after almost dying when he unknowingly had some fentanyl laced heroin. Fentanyl is fucking everywhere now, that shit can and will kill you either intentionally or accidentally. I'm still incredulous that a drug that was initially only used in the medical setting is now a very lethal recreational drug that anyone can buy off the street.

Wait. Doesn't this stuff come in liquid form? Is it possible someone is lacing drinks with it, or no? I only know of it being used (aside from these stories of overdose) in hospitals via IV for surgeries.

They don't, unless they're trying to kill off their clientele. It's someone higher up the foodchain getting reckless.

Lacing coke with fentanyl delivers a more powerful high (which could keep them coming back to a particular dealer), but if the users don't know it's in there, they're quick to overdose and die.

It’s the same with weed. They spray the buds with hairspray or other chemicals to make the high stronger. That’s what keeps people addicted.
