age 71, born August 9, 1952, passed away April 23, 2024. Ralph Richard Havlik, (known by all as "Rick), son, brother, father, grandfather, and entrepreneur, passed away peacefully in Lorain, OH. He was born in Cleveland, OH, and he leaves behind a legacy of resilience and hard work that will be remembered by all who knew him.
Rick is survived by his sister, Lorrie Glover, brother, Lester Havlik, son, Eric Havlik, daughter, Kelly Harmon (Havlik), and his grandchildren, Grace and Tessa Havlik. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Marjorie, and brother, Charles Naso.
Known for his passion for the outdoors, Rick found solace in camping with his family and embraced the beauty of nature. Rick was a dedicated fan of Cleveland sports, always ready to cheer on his favorite teams, while never hesitating to share his critical opinions of the television announcers. His enthusiasm for Ohio State Buckeyes football, especially during the intense rivalry against Michigan, was unmatched. He was a lover of classic rock and could often be found in his basement in Richfield with the music turned up, stroking his unmistakable mustache, and contemplating the messages embedded in the lyrics of his favorite bands. Finally, Rick was talented in the kitchen and loved to cook for his family and friends. Many of his meals and recipes will be cherished forever.
Throughout his life, Rick faced the challenges of losing both of his parents at the young age of 13. Despite this hardship, he persevered, pursuing a college education and becoming an entrepreneur, supporting his family through various business ventures ranging from asphalt to insurance.
Rick's children, Eric and Kelly, will arrange a memorial service to honor his life. Details will be shared with friends and family in the future. Rick will be missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Now that you are reunited with your parents, rest in peace, Rick. May your spirit continue to shine brightly in the minds of those who were fortunate to know you.

Rick was an intense guy. Passionate. I can remember sitting with him and Eric in their newly remodeled basement and listening to old Neil Young, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Doors records. Rick had great taste in music. I carry that little piece with me on my journey and have Rick to thank. We all carry pieces of those we lose. We pass those pieces down to those we love. We live eternally through those who have received those pieces. Rick may be at peace but will love eternally through those who carry pieces of him.
