Even if Sanju Samson win the IPL, there must also be notable celebs , legendary players or high influencing media praising his contribution for the team. But in the case of Sanju, it’s just the opposite. As a local boy from Kerala and as a fan of him, I have to admit that we mallus are still proud of what he have achieved after Sreesanth’s legacy.

look at the no of matches he has played over the years. from 2015 to 2024 total 25 matches in 9 years if this what you call a chance ? i would have taken your statement if he was given 10- 15 matches and he would have had a really bad average and strike rate. you need to back a player to get performances out of him.

Come on!!! what merit pant hold when it comes to international stats the guy got 56 innings strike rate is in 120 range and avg in 20's. Thats some serious fail considering unlike others pant got back to back opportunities. Every time he play he know he will get to play next match and next series that knowledge is one hell of an advantage still he screwed. Where as Samson got most of his opportunities in last one or two matches of a series batted all over the places to fill the roles assinged by the team without knowing when he will get next opportunity . Regarding pant idk whether there is an another player in the history of ICT who got as much as chance as that of pant hoping for "x" factor to turn up

Literally had someone call Sanju Samson as 'fraud' and saying "I'd rather support Pant who came back from life threatening situation and performing good". Man I don't even know Sanju but I feel so bad for him right now. The worst feeling one can get when all our efforts goes unrecognised. I can understand when people said Sanju is inconsistent in previous year but now he is one of the top contender for the WC squad and people are not even giving him the respect he deserves.
Man people are not machines to do everything error- prone . He messed up and yeah it's his fault for his accident.
If there is a chance to go back and correct it , trust me anyone will do it . No one has fun in hospital with that level of accident and nearly to the death bed .

Did you even watch the CCTV footage of the accident? He was clearly over speeding and was either drunk or sleepy(more likely) when it happened. Driving is indeed hard in India but certainly not at 5 am in the morning when there's no other vehicles or citizens seen on the road. Just Imagine any other person or other vehicles in the vicinity of the accident. Learn to get your facts checked first before making a statement in future

Pant is inspiration for everyone to come back on field and perform in 1 year . But he should not be in WC on sympathy quota. He can get bilaterals and he may redeem himself.

Absolutely. I'm not a huge Sanju fan and have been guilty of thinking he might be overhyped. But his consistency in last few years is unquestionably good and I'm happy to bite my words. I think the problem is they see him as a top order batsman and there's no space with Rohit, Jaiswal, Kohli, Sky locked in. When you have no guarantee of your spot and every failure is dissected unlike other ppl such as Rishabh or K L Rahul, there is bound to be extreme pressure..

I seriously don't get anyone who defends KL Rahul. He plays like a tortoise the team is in trouble but plays like a beast when he's in trouble. I would also not want Sanju in the world cup if he is not batting in top 3( which he is not going to). Put him down the order and put him up for failure. He is a very good reader of the game and good behind the stumps. But he is not the slogger you want to have in the late overs. You have people like Rinku singh for that. And when he eventually fails at number 5/6 all the pundits will start pointing fingers at him.
Let the world cup pass and as it stands India have a very slim chance of winning it. There are going to be lot of space open up in the top order. And then Sanju can come in. Even in odis. (With loss of this world cup lot of big names are going to exit the team.).
