Great stereo pressing from an era when pressing plants knew exactly how to manufacture vinyl. Warm, rich and vibrant soundstage with the vocals from Nancy & Lee dripping from your speakers like warm honey. That the vinyl is heavyweight and the sleeve is flip back all adds to the feeling of a first class ticket to psychedelic pop audio heaven with this pressing.

Yes, a great fckn album with an exceptional B side.

LitA Psychedelic Sand Variant - Sounds and looks fantastic. The booklet is gorgeous and full of great photos and interviews with Nancy & Lee. I wish they'd added lyrics on the booklet too but otherwise it's a great package. Numbered out of 2000.

Variants match my copy, but does not have the "4" on the back cover.

I bought the yellow one first but it was terribly warped. Still plays but I love this album so much, it bothered me that it was warped on arrival. Decided to buy the black instead. Very slightly warped but sounds so much better than the yellow version. Should have actually bought it when it came out as I think there is less of a chance or warping if it hasn’t sat in a warehouse for some time. Lesson learned…buy right away (although that’s no guarantee these days).

Wonderfully orchestrated & beautifully arranged iconic LP of schlocky cheesy eerie & eccentric coolness pairing Nancy's sweet voice w/ Lee's heavily reverbed deep baritone vocals in a mix of country, folk & weirdo-lounge pop-psych that’s never dull always fun & well performed fm start to finish.
Lots of magic moments on an album that slowly sensually ferments.

Nope! nope! nope! This is a good example of sub-standard quality control. Over the many years of buying and collecting, I would usually avoid colour pressings as my experience has been these seem to suffer SQ issues (there have been a very few exceptions) I was after a copy of Nancy & Lee and a local online store had no black vinyl versions left in stock. Against my better judgement I thought I'd give the colour variant a try (gold metallic) I felt reassured as this is a Light In The Attic release and should be good, right?.

After unsealing my copy I was a bit surprised at how thin and flimsy the LP was. Imagine my disappointment the moment I saw the pronounced warping once I put it on to play. It was noisy from the first track.
Side two had frequent pops & ticks. I reached out to the store who replaced it with another coloured one (red/orange numbered) - the store opened it and checked before sending. According to them it was fine.
Imagine my disgust when I received it and found the self-same warping issue (not as severe but absolutely noticeable). Over here in NZ this album is not cheap so one could understand my annoyance.

As far as sound quality, other than the ticks and pops, it's obvious bass has been boosted but comes across muddy at times with treble rolled off.It is possible the vinyl is the cause and not the mastering itself. I have tried this pressing on 3 different turntables, all with different cartridges and load settings - I still get similar results. I am disappointed as this is not the standard I expect from Light In The Attic. Poor quality control, flimsy vinyl.less than average sound quality.

I am perplexed at all the stellar reviews for this pressing. I agree the sleeve presentaion & booklet is excellent (no complaints). What's the use if the main content is substandard?

I also own the recent Nancy & Lee Again release (in standard black) from LITA and that is excellent - great presentation, really good mastering and good, flat, dead quiet vinyl. I will be avoiding colour pressings like the plague from here onwards - lesson learnt.

Sounds great, but had bad luck with warping. Multiple copies super wavy. Wish LITA would thin down their gatefold spines.
