‘Lawless’

Directed by John Hillcoat and written by Nick Cave, Lawless is the story of the Bondurant brothers who made their living bootlegging and generally raising hell. Featuring a murderer’s row of acting talent that includes Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska, this depression-era drama follows the bros as they battle corrupt lawmen and ruthless gangsters who threaten their criminal enterprises. While the film is undoubtedly flawed, its stunning action sequences, moody cinematography, and committed performances make Lawless well worth watching. Plus, Tom Hardy looks GREAT in a cardigan.
