These include patrol services, criminal investigations, pistol permits, and jail operations. The head of the LCSO is Sheriff Rick Singleton. The Operations Division is under the supervision of Lt. Hamilton while the Services Division is headed by Lt. Potts.

Lauderdale County Overview

Lauderdale County can be found in the northwestern corner of Alabama. It was named after Colonel James Lauderdale of Tennessee. The county seat is Florence which is also the largest city in the area. Based on the 2010 census, 92,709 people live in this county. The total area of Lauderdale County is 721 square miles. The adjacent counties are Wayne County (TN) in the north, Lawrence County (TN) in the north, Giles County (TN) in the northeast, Limestone County in the east, Lawrence County in the southeast, Colbert County in the south, Tishomingo County (MS) in the west, and Hardin County (TN) in the northwest.
