Visited during covid, we took all precautions (mask, social distancing, washing hands, hand sanitizer, sanitized everything with lysol), I wish all of the people would do the same. A mask order was in affect but looking around you would have not seen many people with masks. People were supposed to wear masks in the elevator but did not. The pool furniture was sprayed once in the morning, and people were at the pool all day. We didn't use the pool because there didn't seem like there was a limit to the number of people that could be there, it was always crowded. There were many items you could borrow to use at the beach, but we did not because we didn't know if any of it was sanitized. We went to the beach when it wasn't too crowded. Not sure why the beach entrance was always propped open because we didn't see the sign about the rocks in the ocean...that would have been good to know.
The unit was great 2bdrm, 2 bath (remodeled), full kitchen, sitting room with couch, chair, & tv. Both bedrooms had tvs, and there was a full washer/dryer. The kitchen had full size oven, fridge, microwave, garbage disposal. There were a lot of items in the kitchen, and there was an option to borrow other items from the front desk if needed. The porch had a table, chairs, and two lounge chairs. There was long black hair sticking to the plastic furniture, and there were a couple strands found in the master bedding. Oh and what every reviewer says about the master-bed is true, it is a very hard mattress.
Overall if there was a virus going around, the resort offers many activities including a pot-luck, and I am sure there is lots of socialization with guests that occur.
The view though you can't beat it; waking up to an ocean sunrise, watching dolphins, sea birds, the bunny in the yard, sunsets, the bats flying and swooping around eating insects, and observing turtles IF it is the right time of year. It was relaxing just watching the ocean, hunting for sea shells, and just being with your family. Would I go back, maybe, but I like calmer waters and less party atmosphere.

My wife and I booked this trip back in October and were lucky enough to have it opened post Covid-19 by the time we traveled. We booked using points thru RCI and chose Las Olas in large part because it had all waterfront units all of which have a great view, large and a stones throw from the Ocean.

All the positives were confirmed, large units with tons of room, lots of closet space, full kitchen, etc. Some of the negatives posted by others such as hard beds, shabby furnishings, noise, etc were not an issue for us and our family members. I will agree the elevator is a bit slow and crowed at check out time. But the resort never seemed crowded at all in the pool or beach areas or anywhere else..

Washer and dryer in the room is a nice touch and the unit we had appeared to show some use but was clean and not shabby at all.

The staff was very helpful and friendly and made you feel at home at all times. They quickly addressed a small issue we had with a door handle and tried to keep as many of the on site activities going as possible considering viral concerns.

I understand how someone can have a bad experience and may have higher expectations than us or our family but this is a well run and maintained property which most will love.

We loved our week there and wish we didn't have to wait 4 years for our next chance. PS check out the cookbook in your room with guest compiled recipes available for $20 in the lobby.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review Las Olas. We are so delighted that you enjoyed your stay here. We have the four year rule in place because we are a small resort and this gives more people the chance to exchange in and stay at Las Olas. We do, however, rent units all year round. If you would like to come back again and rent, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. Kind regards, Suzanne O'Brien

Satellite Beach is a good location on the Atlantic Ocean..The resort is beachfront with all condos facing the ocean. The property is well-maintained..The condo interiors would benefit from a total kitchen appliances replacement, new glass balcony sliders some new furniture. The bathrooms and master bedroom reflect updated furniture and tub/shower areas.

This resort is right on the beach and every room is ocean view. Waking up in the morning and walking to the large living room will treat you to sunrise over the Atlantic. That makes up for the somewhat dated but comfortable furnishings and the usual not luxury kitchen supplies. There is everything you need and it all works and although the unit which was a two bedroom was generally clean some of the cooking things were not as clean as I would leave my own. That could not be taken care of since staff are not allowed in the unit due to covid until changover.
The staff was pleasant and the guest were in large part multi-week owners who came down from the midwest to get away from a harsh winter and were enthusiastic and friendly. They tended to party together at the pool and had often years of vacations together. There is a good mexican restaurant right across the 4 lane highway that borders the resort, Publix a mile away and other stores to supply needs. This is not one of those heavily landscaped large insulated resorts. Its small with the community of other small resorts, condo and houses along the coastline bordered by a highway with many small shopping centers along the other side of the highway. It was a nice way to spend a week walking the beach and hanging around the pool and oh we were able to see a Cape Canaveral lift off right from the resort pool area.

We are very sorry to hear about the cooking things you mentioned above and wish you would have brought that to our attention. I am going to leave a copy of your review for Housekeeping to review. This resort has very spacious units, and every one has a large ocean front balcony. The staff members are very friendly, and the resort offers a number of fun activities as well. Highly recommended! This area has a number of excellent "mom and pop" restaurants, and is fairly close to Cape Canaveral.

Such a wonderful stress free vacation. Perfect views no matter what unit you are in and the location of the pool means no noise to contend with but still super convenient. They think of everything so we just bring our suits and enjoy the week!

I have visited several times over the last 30 (!!) years. Love Las Olas, the location, and the staff. They have continuously improved the property - new updates around pool deck, new flooring and bathrooms in units this year.

This property was awesome and the staff was great! There are two room layouts and we were lucky enough to get the one I preferred. However, We could only get a reservation for three nights starting on Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve I became aware there was a last minute cancellation and a full week reservation was available. RCI was closed. I tried first thing Christmas Day to reach them but, not surprisingly, they were closed. By the time we reached the resort for check in the window of opportunity had passed, and RCI was still closed. I find it hard to believe that a timeshare exchange or any company that does vacation scheduling could close - even on a major holiday. I work for a major corporation that is open 24x7x365. Had RCI been available, we would have been able to enjoy this resort for a full week. That does not mean I won’t use RCI again but this policy is unbelievable.

Small 40 unit resort on the beach with large 2 bedroom units all facing the beach. Clean well stocked units with full kitchens, washer and dryer in each unit, friendly staff. Beach is quiet, nice pool area and just an all around fun time. Many shops and restaurants in the area. Nice family resort.

Beautiful location with ocean view, nice spacious 2 bedroom unit with plenty of closets, 2 bath. We had third floor unit. Not sure if second floor will have the same great view. Nice pool and some activities. Negative to the week was so much seaweed on the beach that never gets cleaned off by the resort or the City. Impossible to have beach umbrellas and chairs that would have not been in the seaweed. We are accustomed to beach being cleaned each early morning by the City in Maryland. If you want to sit on the beach and relax forget about this location as overloaded with seaweed. I have never seen as much seaweed on any beach in 70 years as found here.

Response from Anna J, General Manager at Las Olas Beach Club
Responded Jul 16, 2023
Hi Sharon, thank you for sharing your experience. The city cares a lot about preserving the natural environment on the beach, especially since our shores get more sea turtle nests than anywhere else in North America! As such, there are a lot of limits to what we are allowed to do on the beach. The seaweed comes and goes, some weeks are better than others. :)

Do the coffee makers in the room require paper filters? Do the rooms have a hairdryer?
Answer from KV6122

These are combination coffee makers. You can make a pot of coffee, which would require either filters or the coffee packs that include a filter. The 2nd option on it is for just a cup of coffee and takes K-cups.

We were there in December 2017 and there was plenty of beach for walking, shelling and sitting on the sand.
Satellite Beach, Florida
Smoking is permitted on the balcony but you must keep the balcony doors closed. Smoking is not permitted inside any of the units or the party room. However, smoking is permitted outside and around the pool area, we just ask that you be considerate to your fellow vacationers. Smoking is permitted at the beach but again we ask that guests dispose of their cigarette butts responsibly and safely. Birds and sea mammals ingest the butts, thinking that it's food. If you have any further questions, please get in touch!
