Collina is amazing! We loved everything we ordered: arancini, della fattoria toast, raviolo al uovo, lasagnette, butterscotch budino, and the wine too! The staff was very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be going back!

Collina is every bit as good as Seven Hills, its sister restaurant. and happily, it is different than Seven Hills. So smart to make it different. They both share a very welcoming staff and the most delicious food. I cannot wait to return, over and over again.

From the first sip of wine to the last bite of tiramisu, everything was perfect. I’m not exaggerating when I say this was one of my favorite dining experiences of my entire life. Italian food has so much potential, and a lot of restaurants waste it on boring, uninspired dishes, but not this one. They really know how to do it! I recommend… everything! But the lasagnette was phenomenal and I wanted to steal it from my boyfriend! It apparently has something like 50 layers (counting each layer of pasta, sauce and cheese). The ragú inside is so flavorful! It’s beautifully presented, sliced thinly and flipped on its side so you can see all of the layers! The service and ambience makes it feel like an exclusive and upscale restaurant, but at the same time, it has a cozy neighborhood vibe. It is not intimidating or terribly expensive either. It’s still a place that you can go to all the time! Which I’m thrilled about since I just moved into an apartment down the street!

The food was ok, based on reviews I expected something a lot more impressive. Kinda disappointing as this was my only night dining in San Francisco and there are so many amazing restaurants. Had the chicken and gnocchi entrees.

Collina represents all that’s right in a “neighborhood gem” restaurant. Good service with an “eat at your own pace” attitude. No rush to turn the table. We had two excellent wines and the sommelier really helped with his recommendations. His descriptions made sense and proved accurate. But, the food, oh my! Gnocchi was perfect on a winter night and the chicken was a show stopper. Tiramisu - generous size and good to the last bite. This was my first trip (over from Oakland), but not my last. PS. The parking wasn’t as tough as I expected. Found a place within a block, easily.

Collina provided the best dining experience we’ve had in a long time. Not only did we feel totally taken care of by the lovely staff (both the host - didn’t catch his name - and our waitress ciara were phenomenal), but the food was SPECTACULAR. We ordered two glasses of wine (the Cannonau - highly recommend and was a perfect pairing with our order ), the arancini, the raviolo, the lasagnette, and a steak special (was cooked medium rare center with a perfect crispy crust) that came with broccolini & potato puree. They let us know they would course everything out for us without us even having to request! And between courses we were given new silverware and dishes. I mean - above and beyond. The food itself was unreal. It was perfect to share and try each dish. We left perfectly full, with no room for dessert. I cannot wait to go back. I’ll be dreaming about the rich raviolo and the lasagnette, which balanced out the raviolo perfectly. absolutely must try this cozy spot. Well done!

This was the first time we had visited this restaurant after its write-up in the San Diego Chronicle. The food is quite good, although the menu is small. We had focaccia, arancini, ravioli (the dish consists of one huge ravioli), gnocchi and budino. They were delicious. Service was average. It’s a cute place, but small and consequently noisy.

We're regular diners here and came to Collina for their Valentine Day prix fix dinner. Had the basic dinner without supplements, and added a glass of Sangiovese Blend from their wine list. Collina served their fabulous Arancini (mozzarella balls), followed by a beautiful little gems salad for appetizers. The next course was their lasagnette (thinly sliced lasagna) which was flavorful, yet light to eat. The main was a bavette steak, cooked medium rare to maintain tenderness. The only disappointment for our dinner was that the menu posted when we booked the dinner online listed a Guittard chocolate torte for dessert. However, Collina changed the menu to serve vanilla ice cream sandwiches topped with chocolate syrup. They were very good, except my wife had expectations of the torte. Other than this change, our dinner was a fun, tasty experience. Our friends who accompanied us also enjoyed the dinner.

Excellent choice for Valentine’s Day. Prix fixe menu included arancini (hot, just the right amount of cheese), salad (delicious + generous portion), lasagnette (multi-layered, crispy top), a $30 add-on uovo ravioli (generous slices of perigord truffle) that was perfectly executed but the small piece of bread wasn’t enough to soak up the browned butter, egg yolk + bits, bavette steak (the way I like it = rare). Service was thorough, not rushed, each entree introduced + no hovering). Profiteroles filled with vanilla bean ice cream and a dark chocolate sauce drizzled were the perfect ending to a VERY satisfying dinner. We will definitely be back to try their regular menu since we’ve been eyeing this restaurant for a while - AND it’s only a block from our house!

No doubt the most memorable dining experience in San Francisco in recent memory. The wonderful vibe of manager Danny keeps the place humming along efficiently and makes sure diners awaiting their tables are engaged and happy. Lively and energetic ambience in very intimate setting. The bolognese ragu lasagnette is the most amazing thing to look at on a plate, truly a work of culinary art, and beyond belief in taste.
