BACKGROUND
Japanese Knotweed Solutions were appointed to undertake a full site survey to assess the extent of the Japanese Knotweed infestation. Digital surveying equipment was used to locate the areas of contamination and a full pack of recommendations were produced for the Client.

The site was to be developed for Commercial use so it was imperative that the Japanese Knotweed was dealt with in the correct manner. Our recommendations were followed and works commenced which comprised of the following.

TREATMENT PLAN
An initial spray was undertaken using a glyphosate spray ensuring areas were fenced off and foot washes were installed to prevent further spread.

After the initial spray the methodology involved burying contaminated material in a Borrow Pit under an area earmarked for use as a car park and soft landscaping within the site boundary. The sealed cell was buried and the pit backfilled allowing the development to continue.

Vertical root barriers were installed on the site boundary as the roots had migrated under adjacent land thus preventing re-infestation.

SUMMARY
The project was completed in two weeks and our Client was able to continue with the development having incurred no off site costs for the Japanese Knotweed. to complete.
