We have lived in Waco an d boated on Lake Waco for almost 25 years, not huge, not overly deep, no real nice sandy beaches to pull up to... but is in town and OUR LAKE! Fishing gets better every year too!

I think it speaks well of this lake that it is so accessible to the highway, downtown, and most of Waco‘s neighborhoods. Sunsets from various places, particularly Koenig (sp?) Park, off Lakeshore, can be outstanding if the cloud cover is just right. Lots of peaceful places to contemplate simple good things.

Not too big , but certainly big enough for all kinds of water activites , you will love the beauty , serenity & atmosphere of Lake Waco ! There are many small inlets to explore.....you'll think that your in DisneyWorld , it's so beautiful ! Scoot over to Airport Park & enjoy a great meal at their dockside restaurant !

So mush of the surrounding area was under water because of all the rain that had fallen and was still falling while we were there. I hope the area recovers quickly

More like a lake formed by a reservoir. A dam at the northern end of the lake. Went to the entrances on both sides of the lake where there is an admittance fee. Looked like any other lake with entry fees included. Ehhhh…….

Lake Waco is not a huge lake but certainly is large enough to enjoy water sports such as water skiing, boating, swimming. True to its name, it is contained within the boundaries of Waco, TX. It is a reservoir lake fed by the Bosque River. It doesn't seem to be overcrowded. If you do intend to put your boat in the water at one of the public areas, make sure you have the gasoline you need. There is no gasoline sold on the lake except at a private club that sales to club members. There is camping and marinas on the lake.
