Still no arrests in the murder of a man at a lakeside rental property in Sammamish early Thursday morning.

Investigators have not announced any suspect information or possible motive, only sharing a man in his 60's was shot and killed inside the home on the 3500 block of NE Lake Sammamish Shore Lane NE around 1:20 a.m. Thursday in a possible drive-by shooting in the middle of the night.

KOMO News has asked for more information about what happened, but investigators have not shared any new updates.

“We’re all kind of in the dark, we’re not sure really what the situation is,” Michele Azelby, who lives nearby, said.

Residents in Sammamish still have a lot of unanswered questions after a man was killed inside a vacation rental home on Weber Point.

“It was a shock because I didn’t hear the shots, and a lot of it was surreal,” another neighbor, Ned, who preferred to not share his last name, said.

Investigators with the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) said evidence at the scene suggests it may have been a drive-by shooting.

“We don’t have drive-by shootings, and it’s very unsettling,” Azelby said, “Would love more details to understand what the situation is.”

At least two people were inside the home at the time, including the victim and the person who called 911, reporting they heard gunshots. But investigators have not shared if this was targeted or something else, leaving neighbors to wonder what exactly happened.

“The person who was renting, was somebody a bad guy coming to get them? Is this just random?” Azelby said.

“I think they’re shaken up. People are like wait, this is our little quiet neighborhood. It is a bit disturbing for sure,” Ned added.

Neighbors are also questioning how and why a shooter wandered down this private drive where there’s only one way in and out to target this property. Investigators spent much of Thursday mapping out the crime scene for hours, but still no solid answers just yet, leaving residents here on edge.

“Not sure if I should keep an eye open when I sleep tonight, not sure if this is the safest place, but I want to think it is,” Azelby said.

KOMO News has also asked if investigators have a suspect vehicle description or if they've been able to recover any useful surveillance video, but so far, they haven't shared that information.
