Love this museum only had a chance to experience half the exhibit as the other half is under construction but great experience. Purchased tickets online prior to r try to reserve head count. Tickets were $21 for students and seniors.

      Underground parking around $25

Great exhibits had a chance to see the Judy BACA mural being painted while not ready for exhibition until summer so thrilled to see art in work! Friendly guided staff they had digital QR codes on the wall for additional info on the painting pieces installations also music,

*RECOMMENDATION bring an external battery pack since the QR code process drains your battery. No head sets for rental that would've been great too

Loads of places to grab a bite, totally recommend! Thank you!

Great place to go look at some art. It certainly has a lot of it. The Los Angeles County Museum Of Art is certainly worth paying a bit to see some creative and historic stuff. A lot bigger than it looks, and it still looks big. You can find a few ways to get in cheaper with memberships and passes.

Best place around here as far as modern art. It's for sure not close to being the best art museum, but there's still quite a bit here. The museum itself is pretty nice. Forget about just the art. The worst thing about it is the admission price. It's about $25 for adults. Members can get in as many times as they want for free. There's also lots of discounts available including for military and students. A few buildings make up the museum. The first floor is mostly large things. As in kinds of things you can walk through and around. Second floor has a lot of more modern stuff. Third floor has the classics like Picasso and whoever. Also be sure to check out the pavilion where there's rotation exhibits. The last time there was stuff on war art and films.

Has a few ways to save on admission. It's good to become a member if wanting to go check out the rotating exhibits. The museum also hosts many events like concerts and things.

Went to lacma today for the first time in at least a decade. It is undergoing renovations so there are currently only 2 pavilions open with exhibits.
Parking is expensive but you can also view the tar pits for free since they are all outside so that's a plus.
I think once renovations are completed it'll be worth going back. But you're probably better off waiting until it's all complete for now. Although I'm sure they'll raise prices once it's finished.

Great exhibits and the usually stodgy security people (think at the MET) were informative and so sweet. It is currently being updated and renovated. We loved Dining with the Sultan and the fabulous mural being painted for the LA River.
LACMA is a place of pride in the arts and it was a pleasure to tour there.

It may be the best tourist museum in Los Angeles. There are valuable works such as Picasso inside. But entrance fees are very expensive.

This is long overdue! We absolutely love this place, and have been here many times!

This museum actually has many free days, and you can also get in for free with a Bank of America card. The iconic photo opportunity is in the front of the museum where there are a lot of lamp posts from the early 1900s taken from various places in Los Angeles. Very cool art installation.

Inside the museum of artwork, and they do switch up, so even if you visit often you will see different things. There's a special art installation that you have to get on a waitlist for in order to visit, the waitlist could be over an hour, but it's well worth it. Very cool.

In terms of parking, you can park in the designated, garage, or street parking if you're lucky. Overall we absolutely love this place

Another tip, they have jazz nights in the summer, and those events are really cool. Bring a blanket and a picnic basket and lay out under the stars and listen to jazz music.

I've been to a few modern art museums and this is the first time I've encountered exhibits that were paired with their own music. Bring your headphones because some of your favorite art pieces may be accompanied by some interesting musical compositions.

When I visited, the second floor was closed so I only had access to the first and third floor and the adjacent building. I really enjoyed the modern art exhibits and there was one exhibit where you can go in and have the full sensory experience of being in an old garage from the 1980s. The light and color exhibits on the ground floor were also nice but not as enjoyable as the modern art on the third floor. There is also an exhibit of streetlights outside which is great day and night for a instagram photo op.

If you want to go to a museum in Los Angeles and don't wanna trek to the Getty, LACMA has a really great array of exhibits to occupy you for a few hours. Definitely was worth a look.

      Updated review

I've been living in California for over 20 years and have never visited LACMA until yesterday. Had such a great time going through all the exhibits and the architecture to the building is absolutely spectacular. The museum is quite spread out and indoors. They had different eras of artworks a lot of different artists and even animals that were not alive but on display. I really enjoyed spending the day there. Adult tickets are $25 if you're not a member and I would highly recommend booking the 11:00 which is when they open. Less traffic inside so you could see the art without people crowding around the artwork.

      Over all a nice museum.

Admission price for the museum is $20. its free for LA residents on the weekdays.

If you get there early you can get free street parking in the street.
they have a lot of Picassos work, though im not a fan.

I did find some art pieces thought provoking in Women Defining Women in Contemporary Art of the Middle East and Beyond!

If you have them time visit the museum.
they have a food court outside the museum and places to eat.
the second floor was closed when we visited but over all it was a great time.

$21 flat rate parking, no validation whatsoever, compared to the academy museum right next to them, they do have validation but only with valet, well both of these practices were of course practical, I don't think it's cool to charge $21 if I only spend 1-2 hours here at the museum, maximum probably 3 hours, so they should charge hourly. Plus the line to pay for parking was long anyway even though you have to the option to pay right away before you leave your vehicle, but how many people would do that, the only good thing is their machine take cash, thank goodness
