Kyle Walker is a serious doubt for Manchester City’s clash with Arsenal this weekend.

The 33-year-old defender was forced off early on in England’s 1-0 defeat to Brazil on Saturday, left clutching his left hamstring after racing back towards goal to clear Vinicius Jr’s effort off the line.

The City captain missed Tuesday’s friendly draw with Belgium as a result, returning to his club to undergo further tests.

City host Arsenal in a huge clash at the top of the Premier League with just one point separating the pair and Liverpool.

While City had been hopeful Walker would recover in time, the defending champions are now facing the real possibility of being without their skipper, the Daily Mail report.

While Arsenal have emerged from the final international break relatively unscathed, City have seen injury concerns pile up.

John Stones was another injured on England duty, forced off after just nine minutes on Tuesday against Belgium with a muscle problem.

The centre-half was one of only five players to play the full 90 minutes against Brazil three days earlier with reports suggesting he will also miss the visit of Mikel Arteta’s side.

There was a third defensive concern when Manuel Akanji missed Switzerland’s game against Ireland on Tuesday.

The former Borussia Dortmund defender has been a mainstay in the national side, starting the previous 16 games before an injury forced him out of the squad in Dublin.

City stars return to training on Thursday with Pep Guardiola expected to provide further updates on the trio at his pre-match press conference on Friday.

For Arsenal, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Maghalhaes withdrew from the England and Brazil squads respectively in what were thought to be precautionary measures ahead of that trip to the Etihad.

Gabriel Martinelli was forced off in the 6-0 win over Sheffield United on 4 March with a foot injury and has not featured since.
