KLCC Park is the ideal place for the KL folks looking for a respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. The best part is it is right in the middle of the city.
KLCC Park is the best place for an early morning jog or workout. It has a paved jogging track of about 1.3km and many shorter interconnecting walkways meandering through the lush greenery. It is a huge 50-acre park. You will expect the running track of this public park to be crowded with KL folks, especially on the weekend morning.

The attention grabber of KLCC Park is the water fountain called Lake Symphony at the esplanade outside of Suria KLCC. It is an artificial lake with a central fountain that can shoot up to 42 meters. Besides, a few smaller dancing fountains create various synchronized patterns throughout the day.
An hourly musical fountain show at night is one of the best water features.

The esplanade comes to life with the musical fountain performance at night. The daily water shows are performed every night at 8 p.m., 9 p.m., and 10 p.m. Each performance is called Symphony Lake Water Show and will last about ten minutes, depending on the song.
The musical fountains will form different programmed animation patterns and colorful lighting following the rhythm and melody to display a magical performance of music and water.
3. KLCC PARK – The best spot to view the Twin Towers.
The park has a modern design and tropical landscape. If you want to find the best spot to take a picture of the Petronas Twins Towers, go to KLCC Park. An elevated bridge across the undulating slopes behind the lake offers a vantage view of the Petronas Towers.

4. Wading pool and playground at KLCC Park – (It is free)
There is a public children’s swimming pool with a cascading waterfall flowing down at the back.
Besides the pool, there is an open and children’s playground. It is a two-acre children’s playground, one of the largest in Kuala Lumpur.
It is a haven for weakened family outings with children to spend quality time together.
5. A gateway to Petronas Twin Towers and KLCC Suria
The KLCC Park serves as the entrance to the Petronas Twin Towers near Suria KLCC. It stands as one of Malaysia’s largest shopping complexes. Alongside shopping, the complex offers two main attractions: Aquaria KLCC, an oceanarium, and Petrosains, The Discovery Centre, a Malaysian museum focused on science and technology. Besides that, the park is also next to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
You can have your morning tea or picnic facing the greenfield or water fountain before your shopping spree and visit the Aquaria, Petrosains, and other KL attractions.
Many gazebos and rest areas are scattered at different locations, which are the ideal places to have a picnic or tidbits and enjoy the bright sunshine and beautiful scenery.
6. KLCC Park – An Oasis in a Concrete Jungle
KLCC Park was designed by a talented garden master, Roberto Burle Marx, a renowned Brazilian architect, in 1998.
It is a 21-hectare structure in the Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur city center. The park’s overall design includes water features, trees, stone, and wood.
KLCC Park is an urban park with over 1900 trees of 74 species. More than half were transplanted from the former Selangor Turf Club. The plants are carefully selected to attract different birds to the park.
There are signboards to explain the species and characteristics of these indigenous trees.
Other attractive places to visit near KLCC Par
- If you love nature and hiking, you should explore Gasing Hill Forest Reserve at the Kuala Lumpur border and Petaling Jaya.
- Alternatively, if you are interested in both caves and culture, you can head toward Batu Caves. Here, you will be amazed by the stunning cave formations and Indian temples.
7. Security and maintenance
The park is well-maintained, and there is a small police station next to the lake. Workers cleaned and swept twice during my visits. There are also public toilets available.
The park is spotlessly clean and feels safe to walk around. This standard is in contrast to some of the other parks that I have experienced in Kuala Lumpur.
