What a lovely venue for a friends lunch.. A friendly and relaxed atmosphere greeted us and we found a quiet spot by a window. Service was efficient and friendly and the predominantly young staff were eager to please. (Valeria 😃) Unfortunately we had a glitch with one of the main dishes, which didn’t appear for rather a long time but when it eventually arrived it was delicious as was my trout. The Assistant Manager Elis was professional and apologetic and did everything he could to rectify the mistake, going the extra mile to help us enjoy our lunch. Apart from the slight mistake this is a super enjoyable experience and we could see many of the guests were really enjoying their traditional tea experience. Definitely ticked all our boxes for a lovely afternoon

We were both a little disappointed with our afternoon tea. My friend had the vegan option, I had the vegetarian. The Orangery is a lovely setting, the food was nice but there wasn't enough. Only one (very small) scone per person and tiny, tiny cakes! If you're looking for a really top class afternoon tea, I recommend Claridges instead.

Absolutely the best! I can’t imagine tea could be any better than here! The actual taste of the food was amazing! The tea was delicious. The service, by Chris, was exceptional! The value was great!

What could more perfect while visiting London to plan tea following church? We set out for high tea but the lunch menu was so tempting we had to change course. We started with the Butternut squash soup, Chef’s Choice and the baked Figs with prosciutto. Both were perfectly prepared and the plating was beautiful. We then had the Pea and ravioli and the Christmas dinner. Both were exceptionally prepared. The service was wonderful and we had a beautiful view of Diana’s park. I am so glad we went and while the trays of petit fours and sandwiches looked lovely, the Chef out did himself! Reservations are a must.

Very disappointing. Afternoon Tea at the adjacent Orangery used to be excellent. They have now moved it to the so-called Pavilion whilst the Orangery is being refurbished. The Pavilion is just a glorified Portakabin. The whole event has been dumbed down. Scones and cream should be accompanied by home-made jam, not a jar of Tiptree. The cream should be Rodda's. The tea was in teabags rather than loose-leaf with a very limited selection; the "palace" teacups were chipped. Pastries were disappointing as were the sandwiches. Service was poor with the napkins arriving at the end of the service. No offer of a top-up of tea. Very poor value at £50 per head inc service. Now just a tourist trap. And no sign of the odd royal! https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g186338-d807196-r920800975-The_Pavilion_Kensington_Palace-London_England.html#

We came here for my daughter’s first official afternoon tea. It was amazing and they did such a great job taking care of us. I loved the venue, the tea, and the food. I highly recommend this place.

I bought my 2 Australian friends for afternoon tea, the food was acceptable but the service was diabolical, to the point of rudeness by the staff, I have written a complaint letter directly to The Pavilion but guess what no reply, this venue is attached to an iconic London Palace and should be able to provide better service, the staff certainly need training. Perhaps this review will be read by the management and they will investigate.

The Pavilion provides a delicious tea in elegant surroundings, as do many London venues. However, its staff truly proved their mettle when one of our party was taken ill. They could not have been kinder or more helpful. Many thanks indeed.

The magic of being by Kensington Palace is really what makes this experience special. The food is nothing special - not great, but not bad. The table setting, the dishware, and the gorgeous plating makes for some great photo opps - it's just all so pretty! My biggest critique is that we visited August 2023 and it was 80 degrees Fahrenheit that day and there were no fans and no AC. It was unbearably hot in the tent and everyone around us was asking for water for the duration of our afternoon tea. Other than that, this is the only high tea I would recommend for any visitor to London just because of the proximity to my favorite royal residence, Kensington Palace.

Beautiful spot but very disappointed, staff ok but not very welcoming, we ordered scrambled egg and bacon and that’s all we got for £10.50! No toast no garnish! Expensive for what we got but a lovely setting,

The food was good and unique and made for a very “royal” experience. Staff was very nice and helpful but the bees were unbearable. MUST EAT INSIDE! The bees harass you at the table and are attracted to the pastries and jam.

We did afternoon tea, and the food and drinks were excellent. Overall environment was welcoming to people even if not all dressed up. Service was fine - a little aloof, but not hostile. Only problem sitting in the outside space was wasps, attracted to the sweets. This made it very difficult to relax and just enjoy the experience.

My best friend and I bought tickets for the Fashion exhibition at Kensington Palace and at the same time booked to treat ourselves to Royal Afternoon Tea in the Pavilion for 4.15pm. The food was really very good but the behavior of the staff not so good. Around 5pm they came across to tell us that they close at 6pm! We had hardly started eating and drinking as we were catching up. Then at 5.23pm they put the bill on our table! Then about 5 mins later they came across and asked if we would like to pay as they wanted to cash up, we said no. Then they are clearing up around us, washing the floor + taking some of the cutlery etc from our table all the time making us feel very uncomfortable. I have never been anywhere for afternoon tea where this had happened or you felt you needed to eat your food quickly so the staff could get away! I wouldn't recommend to anyone who asked about the afternoon tea.

We really enjoyed lunch at the Pavillion restaurant at Kensington Palace. We did not have a reservation, but luckily it was not too crowded and we were seated immediately. The French toast with fruit and yogurt was excellent and the ham and cheese croissant was delicious. We also enjoyed the tea! Service is not rushed and the patio seating is beautiful.
