Gager, Ken
Ken Gager, age 85, died Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in Grand Rapids. He was born Oct. 17, 1938 in Detroit and soon moved to rural Grand Rapids, graduating from Creston High School in 1956. He became a journeyman patternmaker and worked "on the bench" at Rapid Pattern & Plastics for over 37 years, ultimately learning the technology necessary for his changing trade and becoming a computer designer for many years. He was an avid model railroader, but never had a real layout. He married Judy Riker May 23, 1959 and moved to the Greenville area in 1961. She survives, along with their 3 children: Michael (Sandi) Gager, Wendy (John) Sinicki, and Steven (Janice) Gager; 7 grandchildren: Brittany (Noah) Siegel, Caitlyn (Seth) Thompson, Nathan Sinicki, Annmarie Sinicki, Samantha "JoJo" (fiance: Joe Maki) Gager, McKenzie Gager, and Fischer Gager; 6 great grands: Elsie, Levi, Miles and Hadley Thompson, and Hunter and Logan Siegel. He is also survived by his brother Earl (Beverly) Gager, a half-sister Charlene (Richard) Amacher and other extended family members. He was pre-deceased by his parents Earl Edward and Lillian (Thornton) Gager. Visitation be Sunday, March 24 from 2-4 pm at Hurst Funeral Home in Greenville with funeral Monday at 11 am at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a more lasting gift to the C&O Historical Society in Clifton Forge, VA which he avidly supported with his creativity, or to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Greenville. Judy and Family, I am so sorry for your lose. Judy I which I could be there to give you a hug. Just as I remember all the good times with my wife Kay you and your family can share all those great memories as a family.
