Two More Arrests in Shooting Death of Actor
LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles police have announced two more arrests in the shooting death of television and film actor Merlin Santana.

At a news conference late Thursday, Deputy Chief Jim McDonnell said investigators arrested 20-year-old Damien Andre Gates and 23-year-old Brandon Douglas Bynes of Los Angeles for investigation of murder. McDonnell says both were armed at the time of the Santana shooting.

Last week authorities charged a 15-year-old girl with murder in Santana’s death. Her identity was not released because she is a minor.

Santana was shot to death early November ninth while sitting in the passenger seat of a car parked in south L.A..

Santana recently appeared in the Eddie Murphy and Robert De Niro movie “Showtime.”
