Jennifer Hough and Lawyer Tyrone Blackburn sat down with Adrienne Houghton and Garcelle Beauvais on The Real.

On August 13th, Hough filed a lawsuit stating that the couple had been harassing her to recant her report that Petty raped her in 1994. The lawsuit accuses Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty of “intentional infliction of emotional distress and alleges sexual assault and battery. The lawsuit also reads that Hough “has not worked since May of 2020 due to severe depression, paranoia, constant moving, harassment and threats from the defendants and their associates,” She stated on The Real that she is currently fearing for her life.

Is Kenneth Petty a registered sex offender?

Kenneth Petty is a registered Level 2 sex offender on New York State’s Sex Offender Registry. Following a November 2019 traffic stop authorities learned that he had moved from New York to California and failed to submit his sex offender status. Petty pleaded guilty to failure to register as a sex offender in September and was released after posting a 20,000 bail. According to court records, he initially pleaded not guilty to the indictment but later changed his plea. He’s scheduled to be sentenced in January.

Nicki Minaj twitter posts
Nicki Minaj responded to a fan about the case on Twitter.

On The Real, co-host Garcelle Beauvais read this statement about Petty’s 1995 rape conviction: “Though Kenneth Petty first denied the rape charges, he was charged with first-degree rape and subsequently pleaded guilty to attempted rape and served 4 years in prison according to the inmate records.”

Did Jennifer Hough recant her story?

Hough told The Real that she was forced into saying she wanted to drop the the charges by her family because of threats, but she always maintained that the rape did happen in court documents. “When it came time for court, I believe the judge asked a question, and I stood up in court. I just blurted out: ‘I wanna drop the charges!’ I never said it didn’t happen, I just said I wanna drop the charges.” she told The Real. Hough also responded to Minaj’s social media posts. “It was like reliving it again because it was a lie, it wasn’t true. We were both 16. We were never in a relationship… I just felt woman to woman that was wrong of her. I don’t know you and you don’t know me…you have a hundred and fifty-something million followers – they all believed it. It hurt coming from another woman.”
