. . . we would award to this great property! 5 for the Inn and an extra star for the host Susan. Perfectly situated at the edge of old Fredericksburg (George Washington's Mother's house is just around the corner), it is an easy walk from the Amtrak station and fit our criteria for a 'no car' getaway. Fredericksburg itself is a a very walkable historical gem including the feature civil war battlefield (also within walking distance) and the Kenmore Inn definitely kept the feeling throughout our visit.

The Kenmore (if you will) is a nice blend of classic historical Inn and full service B & B. Once a Fredericksburg mansion, it retains the feeling of the time. Carefully restored and yet up to date amenities. A FULL breakfast included and a very helpful staff (held bags while extending our day until train departure time) made our stay easy.

Always hesitant to over-rate a place, but we would rate this one exceptional and we've stayed at a bunch of them. Thank you Susan, staff, and proprietor for a very nice experience.

We spent 2 nights at this location. First of all, let me begin with the two Susan's. They were amazing every step of the way - they remove all the stops to make sure guest are taken care of. This B&B is just gorgeous, on a historic street, surrounded by many homes like this. Walking is unlimited throughout the area. The Historic downtown is just up the street with lots of shops and restaurants to choose from. Civil War battlefields are very close by. Breakfasts both mornings were delicious. Can't say enough about this beautiful home and would never hesitate to stay here again and recommend. As far as I know all sleeping rooms are upstairs.

This is a nice place. Excellent location in a good neighborhood. Easy walk to downtown. Confusing self-checkin if you neglect their follow up email. Very pleasant staff and good breakfast. Common area and bedrooms adequately furnished. A solid choice for a B and B, although WiFi in our room ( end of hallway) was marginal and cable channel selection was comically poor.

We stayed at the Kenmore Inn two nights but were never told nor does the website state that there would be no housekeeping services or a staff person available at night should there be a problem. When we contacted the owner, he neither apologized nor seemed concerned but instead claimed the lack of full service was due to precautions against spreading Covid (although none of the staff were wearing protective masks). The website does not state that this is NOT a full service bed and breakfast because had it done so we would have stayed elsewhere. The owner appears more concerned about making money than about providing a wonderful b&b experience. The lack of honesty on the website tells you the true nature of the owner.

We stayed at the Kenmore Inn for our wedding anniversary and had a great experience. The inn is within close walking distance from the downtown area and is virtually surrounded by historic buildings. Our room was elegant. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and made to order. We highly recommended the Kenmore Inn.

After a long drive we are looking forward to arriving
at the Kenmore Inn around dinner time. We were imagining sitting in the parlor in front of a roaring fire and maybe enjoying a cup of tea or glass of
wine. It was quite cold out.
Shortly before arrival, we received a message from
the Innkeeper that she had to leave due to a personal matter. We were instructed to let ourselves
in through the side door. Not welcoming.
It was kind of depressing to wonder around the
dark Inn, with velvet ropes blocking access to the
parlor and no one to greet us or recommend a
restaurant for dinner.
We rented the Mary Washington room which
looked nothing like the on line photos.
Poorly decorated, faded upholstery, blinds that
didn’t work, rickety bedside tables. The
“Soaking Tub” described as perfect for romance,
was just an old tub. There was rust around the
bathroom appliances and dirty windows,
The towels were thin and just like free towels
provided if you work out at a gym or spend a
night in jail.
The king bed was super uncomfortable. Maybe
the mattress was worn, so they added a mattress
topper which slid around on top of the mattress.
We slept as well as we could & went down for breakfast where we met the Innkeeper.
She was nice and a bit apologetic but UNMASKED
during the Omicron surge.
The only positive about this “long in the tooth”
historic inn which is in dire need of upgrading
and redecorating, is the super location and
very nice breakfast.
Don’t be misled by the website photos. The
Kenmore Inn staff is unprofessional and the
rooms are tired and in disrepair. A memorable
stay for all the wrong reasons.

We had an amazing and very romantic time at the Kenmore Inn for Valentine's Day. Susan Johnson thoughtfully worked with us despite being booked, and she actually called us back when she experienced cancellations! That's so unheard of around busy Northern Virginia and I get tired of having to track people down and do their jobs for them. Well, she was courteous and squeezed us in, not once but twice, to adjust for changes. Everything went smoothly, and we had a great meal with amazing food, superb service, and great atmosphere and music. We would wholeheartedly recommend the Kenmore Inn, and hope to return some day.

The Kenmore Inn is beautiful, but its website is grossly misleading. The hotel has almost no staff, so there is no one to greet you when you arrive. They apparently use the excuse that staff had to attend "personal business" on every new arrival. No one there after five, even though the website says there is staff on site all the time. There is no room cleaning. No new towels. No way to get other pillows or blankets. When we complained the air conditioning didn't work, we were told "sorry." Lots of obviously deferred maintenance. The free breakfast was fine, but nothing special. We have stayed an many, many B&Bs, and none of them have treated us as poorly as this one. Save your money, stay at an AirBnB and get breakfast in town.

Well appointed B&B with a gracious, welcoming hostess. Five minute walk to the historic area, and short drive to local Revolutionary and Cvivl War sites. The beds were very comfortable beds and they serve a great breakfast.

My husband and I spent 2 nights mid-week at the Kenmore Inn and we have nothing but wonderful things to say. What impressed us the most was the attention to detail...fresh flower arrangements in the public rooms, beautiful Christmas decorations, linens and beautiful china to complement the made-to-order breakfast included in the room rate, beautiful music playing throughout the inn, complementary sherry in each room, lovely antiques, beautiful linens, fluffy towels, upscale bath products, gorgeous draperies. We stayed in one of the 4 deluxe rooms with hardwood floors, a working fireplace and a canopy bed. I felt as if we were staying in someone's very comfortable home. We ate dinner both nights in the pub and enjoyed the classical guitarist who plays on Thursday nights. Don't miss the roasted red pepper soup, steak and cheese pie and grilled pork chop with apples and pecans. The service on the part on the entire staff was great, especially Gretchen, who accomodated us with a very early breakfast on one of the mornings. We hope to return to this most charming inn.

Call and ask for Jacquie Hartman. She will know. It would surprise me if pets are allowed, but one never knows.
