C.J. Uzomah denies Kay Adams dating rumors: ‘My girl isn’t the happiest’

After C.J. Uzomah signed with the Jets last week on a three-year deal worth $24 million, the former Bengals tight end shut down claims that he joined the Jets to be closer to “Good Morning Football” host Kay Adams, who is based in New York.

“Uh… idk what @DLInTheTrenches is talking about. I’m not dating Kay,” Uzomah wrote in a tweet, tagging Dave Lapham, a podcast host covering the Bengals.

“My decision to go to NY was not about anything other than what was in my best interest for me and my playing career. Respect you, Dave, but had to call this out when false rumors are spreading.”

Lapham later apologized in a separate tweet, writing, “Totally fair, my apologies to you and Ms [Kay Adams].”

In another tweet, Uzomah said the recent romance rumors about Adams took a toll on his relationship.

“My personal life is my personal life. My girl isn’t the happiest about these accusations, though,” he wrote.

It’s unclear who Uzomah’s girl is, as the 29-year-old tight end is fairly private about his love life on social media. Uzomah had been previously romantically linked to “Survivor” contestant Lauren O’Connell.
