Kaweah Oaks Campground specialize in tent camping for those looking for a place to stay while visiting the National Parks and surrounding area. Our campsites are private compared to most campgrounds you will visit and each one comes with a table and fire ring. We have a bathroom and shower. The campground is 4.5 miles to the entrance of the Sequoia National Park and close to restaurants and shops. Reservations and walk-ins welcomed. We highly recommended to make reservations for holiday weekends. Self check-in campers please make sure you are paid in full before you setup. There is a self check-in at the kiosk.

My husband, friend and I stayed at this campground last weekend as a quick stop before we went backpacking in sequoia. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you are doing something similar!
The campground has walk up sites. You'll park in a private parking lot and will walk to your site from there. All of the sites are pretty close to the parking lot - even if you have a lot of stuff, it shouldn't be a problem.
Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. We stayed at site number 6, which was pretty huge. I'd definitely recommend this site, with my only complaint being that the lights to the karaoke bar shine in a little bit.
One thing to note is that this campground is not for parties. It is definitely a campground where you'll want to talk in your "quiet" voice.
Overall, I'd recommend this campground!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kelsey N.Cocoa, FL02224Jun 28, 2020
My friends and I stayed here one night for a trip to Sequoia National Park. We would stay here again on future trips, especially if you can't get a campground in the park. Here is some comments:
Location: It is about 12 min to the front gate of the park, so super close. The campground is right by HWY 190. You can hear the cars but the traffic noise dies down to almost zero at night. There is restaurant/bar across the street which we found enjoyable especially since it was super hot outside! It had good food and drink.
Price: It was very reasonably priced though you have to pay additional money for more than more car which it is due on arrival because you can't pay online for it.
Staff/Facilities: The camp manager was very nice and welcoming. The bathroom and showers were clean and maintained. (Hot water too in shower!) Our campground was in the center next to others but we weren't disturbed. I included a camp map to help others with choosing a good spot. I would recommend 7/8 as they are in the back away from everything. Also, there is no potable water and while there is a camp store, it was closed when we were there. There are fire pits at each campsite.
Overall, we had a good experience and this is a solid choice if you can't stay in the park. Just be prepared for some driving once you get in the park.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tat S.Fremont, CA19105Sep 30, 2021
Had a very nice and lovely stay for 3 nights over there. Campsite was nicely maintained and flat. Hot shower was adequate and I enjoyed its simplicity. It is close to local highway but I did not have any issue falling asleep and did not really notice noise that much. My whole family enjoyed it and we had fun visiting Sequoia National Parks and enjoyed the coffee shop, ice creams and the cool restaurant just within walking distance.
As of now, I heard fire is ravaging the area and I really hope this campsite will survive. Hope to be back next SpringHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Steve R.San Pedro, CA1308Aug 13, 2017
Absolutely loved this campground. I took my two daughters as it was their first time camping and I didn't want them to be scared of bears. You don't have to worry about locking up your food or giant ants. The place was mostly empty which made me feel bad for the host but it was good for us because it felt like we had he campground to ourselves. It's at the bottom of the mountain which can be good or bad. I like to drive up for the day to hike and see the big tree and then back down at night. Not a problem for me. It was very clean except the bathroom could have been sprayed for insects. I actually drove to other campsites to compare and this definitely beats kaweah park resort which is disgusting, buckeye flats (which is so compact your next tent is 5ft away) And potwisha which is ridiculously unkept. Trash everywhere and brush needs to be trimmed there.
Overall pros: very clean and we'll kept, stores within walking distance (gas, ice, candy store and ice cream shop) great for kids. Shower was very clean.
Cons: bar across the street, bathrooms could be cleaner. Bring your own water but that's a given when going camping.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aaron K.Manhattan, NY196113Jul 15, 2017
If you're not a fan of paying hidden fees,
stay clear of this campground. We were charged an extra $20 for not paying immediately upon arrival. As if that wasn't bad enough, the manager was extremely rude. Plus there is no clean drinking water available and the bathrooms were very dirty and infested with insects.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Paul D.Long Beach, CA04Jul 16, 2020
Just spent two nights at Kaweah Oaks Campground. Due to limited National Park options, this was a lucky find. It is near the park entrance and to Mineral King Road. The manager Jeff was friendly, very helpful and flexible on accommodations and sites. The campsites are spacious. Some more private than others. Bathrooms and showers were simple, adequate and clean. There is a communal area with an electric outlet. Parking outside the camp area at first seemed odd but hand trucks are available for your equipment and no cars driving around is worth it. Cooking and cleaning, bring your own water. For early to bed hikers with early starts, the road side noise and a restaurant/cantina across the way created a bit of disturbance. It eventually quiets down. Campground noise was handled gracefully by the manager.
This is an orderly campsite in close proximity to the National Park run by a genuine helpful person Jeff. Good place for staging your park activities.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - nick d.Sacramento, CA273Mar 8, 2020
Nice place, friendly staff. I called late and they answered. We had been driving 6 hours and needed a place to stay and they were very accommodating. Fire pit, quiet, and did I mention the staff were very accommodating? 20$ a night in early march.

Jeff was really nice, and answered my questions about the site. I was staying there by myself so I was more careful than usual. When I got to Kaweah Oaks, I found a pleasant and shaded parking space, with flowers and trees, generous information about campground facilities and layout and Sequoia NP on a large message board.
I did not use the bathroom, so I cannot comment on its state but the water supply was easy to access. The campsites are peaceful and quiet.
I would definitely stay here again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Christina A.Los Angeles, CA34148257Jul 15, 2019
We found this location by pure luck! We had reservations at Three Rivers Hideaway for 3 nights. Unfortunately Three Rivers Hideaway did not have acceptable accommodations. We decided to look around and stopped at several sites with river access and all were booked up. We stopped by Kaweah Oaks and the host, Nikki was super helpful, and the price was extremely fair. This location does not allow the car to pull into the camping area, but they do provide dollies for your convenience. This is as close to forest camping as you can get off of the main street. No water access, but not too far from Slick Rock which is great! You can hear the river from this camp site. The bathrooms were always clean. There were some moments that you could get a foul whiff of it while passing by, but while inside there was no odor whatsoever. I'm very picky about bathrooms and will almost always refuse a public bathroom and had no hesitation about using the bathroom here when needed. We had site #9 and LOVED it! The space was ample and the sound from the street was minimal. Yes, there's some kind of bar or restaurant that had a band playing on the weekend and it was cool -- didn't bug us at all. Nikki was always busy keeping the facility up without being intrusive. Jeff was also a great help while we were checking in. The shower was clean and not completely cold. The earlier you shower the warmer the water. I loved the cooler water after a hot day on the river. We definitely would stay here again without hesitation. I can't thank Jeff and Nikki enough for their awesome hospitality and efforts in keeping this camp site up and running in such a smooth fashion. We'll be back!!!!

We arrived here late and as same as others already mentioned the host welcomed. She has hospitality mind. It was so helpful. I recommend here if you did not have reservation. There was not far from Sequoia National Park.
