Social media users attacked hardline White House senior adviser Stephen Miller after news of his engagement to Katie Waldman, the press secretary for Vice President Mike Pence.
News of the couple's engagement was initially posted on Waldman's private Instagram page Sunday but was widely circulated by former Obama aide Todd Breasseale.
'Looks like former @DHSgov deputy press secretary, now comms for VP Pence, @katiewaldman - said yes to Mr. Trump's sr. advisor for immigration policy, Stephen Miller,' Breasseale said in the tweet that has been commented on more than 2,600 times.

Miller is considered one of the most ideological staffers in the White House and is one of the architects behind Trump's much criticized immigration policy that enforced child separation at the border.
Waldman started on her journey to the White House as a deputy press secretary under former Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.
She is also a supporter of the Trump administration's immigration policy, and began her new role with Pence on October 1.
'She's got extensive experience, and she'll be a great fit in our office,' Pence's chief of staff Marc Short said when her new role was announced, according to Newsweek. 'She's shown she has the mettle to handle intense environments.'
And while there were some people excited for Miller's engagement news, many took the moment to slam both political appointees.
Several users expressed how sorry they felt sorry for Waldman, while others shared theories on how the couple's children would come out.

One person asked: 'What kind of person would marry him. Truly. I promise you that Stephen Miller will go down as one of the most evil people in American political history.'
'Poor thing,' declared a different user. 'Can you imagine the men she's had in her life up until this point that Stephen Miller seems appealing?'
'May they be separated from their children at birth,' someone commented.
Another user said: 'If they do have kids, I hope they become Democratic Socialists.'
