KATHRYN WAHL OBITUARY

KATHRYN H. WAHL PORTER, IN Kathryn H. Wahl, age 74, of Porter, IN, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2007. Born March 27, 1933 in Gary, IN to the late George Axtell and the late Emma Benner Axtell. Survived by her husband Elmer C. Wahl of Porter; son Ron (Debbie) Wahl of Porter; daughter Susan (Mike) Webb of Austin, IN; grandchildren: Eric Jacobs, Josh (Kara) Jacobs and Travis Webb; great-granchildren: Aidan and Taegen; sisters: Mary Haire of Chesterton, Louise Huber of Hartford, MI and numerous nieces and nephews. Kathryn was a registered Nurse who worked as Head Nurse in the Pediatric Department at Porter Memorial Hospital, and worked at both Whispering Pines and Vale View Nursing Home. She was a very active member of Augsburg Ev Lutheran Church in Porter. Katheryn's hobbies included Ceramics, needlepoint, knitting, and plastic craft. She and Elmer resided the winter months in Florida for many years. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 31, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from Augusburg Ev Lutheran Church, 100 N. Mineral Springs Rd, Porter, IN with Pastor Erik Bernth officiating. Entombment Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN. The family will receive friends Sunday 2-6 p.m. at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St. Chesterton, IN. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to the VNA Horton Hospice Center, 501 Marquette St., Valparaiso, IN 46383. For more information please call 219-926-1309.
