"You don't even want to know the last conversation we had, because it was so funny and made me laugh so much," Kate recently said of her hangouts with Leo. "We found ourselves saying to each other, 'Can you imagine if the world really knew the stupid things we say?' I'm not going to tell you what we actually talk about, but yeah, we're very, very close and sometimes we do quote the odd Titanic line back and forth to each other, because only we can, and we find it really funny."

"He's a solid, loyal person. He's a great friend, he always has been, and not just to me, but to everyone around him. He still has friends he had when we made Titanic," Kate told People in 2016, when Leo was working the Oscar circuit for The Revenant. "He's a stronger actor in this moment than he's ever been. I think he's more handsome than he's ever been. And he feels, to me, the most settled he's ever felt, in himself, right now, which is quite strange, really, given that there's a lot happening around him."

Kate refused to boycott the 2016 Oscars because she just felt that it was Leo's year. "I feel very strongly that it may possibly be Leo's year. [H]e is my closest friend in the world and I just couldn't imagine not being there to support him," she said.

At the Golden Globes in 2016, Leo was asked about the possibility of working with Kate again soon. He said, "I'd love to. She's my favorite actress in the industry. She's actually hanging out with me tonight. We're gonna go to the afterparties together."

"Leo has mastered this more than anyone I know. it's not that he's sort of brazen like, 'I don't give a f*ck and I'm going to be rebellious and behave badly.' It's not that. It's genuinely not caring what people think because he will not allow other people's judgments to have any kind of impact on his life and who he is. and I have really admired that so much in him," Kate said in 2013.

During a 2009 appearance on Oprah, Leo said, "In a lot of ways, Kate and I have really grown up in this industry together; we've been a support mechanism for each other for such a long period of time. We've been there for each other and helped guide each other."

"Leo, I'm so happy I can stand here and tell you how much I love you and how much I've loved you for 13 years...I love you with all my heart, I really do," Kate gushed during her acceptance speech for Best Actress in a Drama at the 2009 Golden Globes.

During the Revolutionary Road press tour, Leo got our hopes up for even more future team-ups. "It's great to work with one of your best friends, it really is. I'll always be looking to work with her again," he said of working with Kate again.

While promoting Revolutionary Road, Kate and Leo gave an interview on Today

"Well, I think I can speak for both of us: we have a lot more wrinkles," Kate said of how they had changed since Titanic. "Don't we, darling? I'm proud of him, though. I can't say that you're taller, because you were always tall. He's a man now; look at him—he's just bigger. Physically you aren't that different; you're just less puny."

And Leo? He was all compliments for Kate. "She's still as beautiful and radiant as the day I met her. She is the consummate professional; she keeps pushing herself to an emotional truth when she's working. That's why I keep saying she's the best."

In 2005, the pair gushed over each other during an interview with Extra on the SAG red carpet.

"She's the same person she's always been," Leo said. "She's a fantastic human being."

Later in the interview, Kate gushed to Leo, "I just feel so proud that you've turned into this really special person."

As she left, Leo gave her a kiss on the cheek and said, "I love you, sweetheart," fueling the ship.

During a 2004 interview with Oprah, the host played a clip of Kate talking about Leo in 1998. In the clip, Kate said, "I was like probably how all the women in this audience are, about Leonardo DiCaprio. Initially,  I thought, 'Ugh, how am I gonna work with this beautiful man who's such a brilliant actor?' And I met him and he's honestly so lovely and down-to-earth and normal and so good at what he does."

"That's my girl," Leo responded. "I feel the same way about her. If it wasn't for her making that film, we would have been shrapnel at this point. It was just the toughest film we ever had to make and we were partners together."

"She's such a terrific person in general that our chemistry naturally happened on screen. We just like each other as people. As far as doing a love scene, though, we laughed about it a lot," Leo told Entertainment Tonight in 1997 while promoting Titanic.
