By now, you've probably seen it. The clip of a bikini-clad Kate Upton dancing to The Rej3ctz's "Cat Daddy" has been viewed more than 22 million times. But the Sports Illustrated model apparently never intended for you to lay eyes on that video.

When photographer Terry Richardson posted it to YouTube back in 2012, it was without Upton's permission. In a resurfaced interview, Kate described the experience to British Vogue's Alexa Chung, who writes that "Upton was horrified because the behind-the-scenes video had been filmed for fun, not something she expected would make the final cut."

"That was disrespectful, you could have told me!" Kate recalled telling Richardson after the video's release.

The photographer, who makes a brief appearance at the beginning of the clip, has had a controversial history in the fashion industry. Over the years, several models have claimed that Richardson was sexually inappropriate with them.

Upton's privacy being violated would seem to fall in line with the picture of Richardson as a photographer who allegedly has trouble recognizing and respecting women's boundaries.

According to Kate, since the video was posted, she and Richardson have since reconciled. And if there's anything positive to come from this, maybe it's that images of curvy Upton -- including her playful dancing in the "Cat Daddy" video -- helped push the high-fashion world to embrace a body type that's relatable and beautiful.
