They've been happily married for over six years after falling in love on the set of the cinematic adaptation of Big Sur in 2011.

And Kate Bosworth and Michael Polish looked like honeymooners while celebrating the director's 49th birthday at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, on Tuesday.

The actress, 36, shared a passionate kiss with her husband as they packed on the PDA in the middle of the theme park.

The I-Land star kept it casual in high-waist blue jeans, worn with a white tank top tucked in.

Kate accessorised her look with a tan belt bag and white trainers, finishing off the relaxed ensemble with a pair of sparkly Minnie Mouse ears over a black cap.

The actress wore her blonde tresses down and added a brush of neutral make-up, including a pretty pink lipstick.

Michael looked relaxed as he walked around the park with his wife and a Disney tour guide, before planting a huge kiss on Kate while riding the Space Mountain rollercoaster.

The film director wore light trousers with a white T-shirt and added a splash of colour with a scarf around his neck.

The movie-maker, who will turn 49 on October 30, also wore a cap but swapped his Mickey ears for a Disney birthday badge.

Kate typically keeps a low profile, but has been back in the spotlight after promoting her new Netflix series, the I-Land.

Kate and Michael - who has a daughter Jasper, 20, from his previous marriage - met when he directed her in a cinematic adaptation of Jack Kerouac's 1962 novel Big Sur in 2011.

The couple tied the knot two years later in a romantic ceremony in Philipsburg, Montana, in August 2013.

Speaking in an interview with British Marie Claire magazine in January 2015, Kate admitted she was cautious about rushing into a relationship with her director while they were filming on set in California.

She explained: 'There are so many people that hook up on movies, and you wonder if that's real, so we didn't go there.

'I think we were both experienced to know that if this was the real deal, we could wait to see what would happen.'

Having adopted a patient approach to her romance with the director, Kate admits it wasn't long before she discovered he was 'The One'.

She recalled: 'That's when it hit me, at about a million miles an hour – I almost fell off my chair. They always say, "You know when you know," and I had found that quite frustrating my whole life.

'I thought, "Yeah, but how do you really know?" But it's true – he walked in and it hit me, like nothing I'd ever felt before…

'Meeting Michael honestly felt like coming home. It feels comfortable and secure but also exciting.'
