Karen Miller

Karen Miller is a thief. I hired her to handle a conservatorship for my severely disabled daughter. I paid her $3700 and during this time she has not responded to any of my e mails and has been stringing me along for the past year. I discovered from another attorney that she has been disbarred and has a 135 page document outlining how she has ripped people off. 15 other people have complained against her for stealing their money.
This is the first time I have ever yelped. But do not hear this attorney. She is not even an attorney anymore.

My one star rating is in my opinion actually a minus one. ms. Miller came recommended from an out of state special law group after my ex was not playing fair over simple issues. years went by and he continued to control my monies, using my money to fight against me. i felt helpless and after hearing how she was the voice for children whom do not get heard i felt she would also be that for her client too. i had been feeling helpless and saw no justice in the court. i sold a painting from a famous artist, a gift to me from a dying friend so i could afford her needed services. i paid her a flat fee for amending one time sensitive document, which was the only asset not in control of my ex. It was to finish dividing the retirement. There was no arguement but we had important deadlines and the risk of loosing a few hundred thousand dollars.

She was paid in full a flat fee so i could be sure the work would be completed, and money not an issue.

karen miller had one year before my ex turned of age to collect the retirement, all of it, including my share without the amendment. it was an order of the court and i owned 50% but it held one error. karen did not answer calls or return messages. A few months would go by and finally she gave me empty promises along with one excuse after another, she had some big court case, then had been sick, then a relative out of town was sick, and then a death, on and on. but when she returned she would get started, not!

The year was up and my share at risk. i thought i was going to loose it with stress and worry, and she knew it but didnt seem to care.
I had to spend money again for the services of another attorney. She asked me why saying the work was finished, but it was a lie....because i was waiting for the meeting we never had in order to give her the updated info needed for the work, but she cancelled 3 meetings we scheduled near the end of that year, so how is it she says she had completed the work? it was impossible. When she finally mailed my file back the papers were exactly as i had handed them to her that year before, hot from the press and stapled without a bend.

She had no right to keep my payment in full. i am still mopping up from the damage and stress she caused me. i wish i could have filed a case against her but she left me in too many pieces. i could not focus on her or go up against her. i am not one who angers easily but there was no doubt what so ever this was totally on her. it is so hard to believe she sits on cases judging others. wow!

i am pleased for those whom she did good but in my case she took my money and never looked back. The others whom she did this to...i would be more than happy as a group to bring her to justice. i hate to think of her kicking someone else when they are down from within her arena. Obviously she does this delibertly knowing she is the superior in the court of law, but lawyers are to have ethics. an example is not having a relationship with a client which is wrong...but stealing from clients intentionally? She needs to be judged and held responsible.

These lawyer is a joke. I hired her a few years back to deal with my divorce and she pretty much did nothing for my case and she didn't went to trial when she was suppose to. I highly do NOT recommend anyone to come here. Karen Miller messes up my case! She's lazy and won't work on your case. They are unprofessional. DON'T EVER GO HERE!

I am a victim of Karen Miller!!! She has taken advantage of me!!! Has stolen money!!! Do not and I repeat DO NOT HIRE Karen Miller!!! She will gain your trust. Tell you exactly what you want to hear. And after she has taken your retainer fee money. You will no longer hear from her. She is a big scam. I wish i would have read the reviews before hiring her. It was a big mistake. She told me "when people hear my name they run". Now i now why they run. Never filed any of my paper work. Had to hire another lawyer 3 days before my court date.I don't understand how she is still in business. I guess she is making a living off of stealing money from people. Shame on you!!!

Paid over $10,000, always late to court. Judge and other attorneys see her as a joke. Almost lost custody of my daugther to my abusive ex husband. Did more goissp and chitchat then working/filing my case. Lucky for me I changed lawyers. I have 80/20 now :-) don't make my mistake find another attorney.

This an update to my previous review. Karen Miller did resolve the issue I had with the Stipulation Order. She completed it as professionally as you can expect from a divorce lawyer. She patiently and methodically nailed all of my concerns and printed out the Stipulation Order for me. I then filed it myself with the Courthouse. Karen has a vast knowledge of family law and does care about you and your case once she starts working on it. It was entirely out of frustration because I could not get a hold of her and it is this area that I still feel she needs to work on and make improvements to stay on top of her cases. People need access to their lawyers!

I will also add that my ex-husband did not behave in a typical divorce fashion. For one) he fled to another state when it all went down a few years ago, two) he re-opened our divorce and then never closed it with his requests three) he avoided all phone calls and emails from Karen Miller and myself like the plague and four) It was sheer luck and persistence on both mine and Karen's to finally get him to close the divorce and sign the Stipulation Order in 2012. I had to go out of state to do this.

So Karen Miller did face some challenges in my divorce case and I know she moved on to other cases. She is still willing to support me on one last document when my ex-husband obtains full-time employment soon (laid off after 16 years) which will be garnishing his wages. Overall, Karen and I talked it all out and she acknowledged her part in causing my frustration and I felt she really listened to me and empathized with me. As a result, I am updating this review to show her integrity as a lawyer.

This lady is completely a thief. My father in law hire her for small business lawsuit but she completely took the money just ran away. She never picks up the phone but texted me the update. I never deal with the lawyer so we didn't know the procedures. She did not file a lawsuit for us but saying "I filed a case and the court will tell me know the date but it may take couple of months". She is completely rude and unprofessional. Then finally I called her to give me my money back as she did not do anything for us except few text and email corresponds. Then she started threatening me saying "You will receive a bill". She also threats me saying "I will teach you a lesson".

I see a lot of 5-star reviews here.... It's all fake reviews... Don't fall into it. She is a liar and hypocrite. Stay 1000 miles away from this lady.

She will take your money and talk a good game, Will not return phone calls for weeks unless you email and treaten her. She does not inform you about your case unless you hound her for the info. It took her 5 months to inform me MY case was rejected after she told me everything was going fine.
AVOID at all costs.

Karen B Miller is by far the worst family attorney. I went from 51% Custody to 25%, from not paying to paying Child Support!! She also agreed with other counsel to give me 52 Sessions of therapy, only to find out it was Domestic Violence classes.... even tho the Judge denied and dismissed the Domestic Violence. I gave her evidence to submit to show the other side was lying and she NEVER USED IT!!!!She is by far the worst!!! Be careful!! She didn't even rate!!!!
