Last Man Standing is poised to welcome back one of Mike and Vanessa’s daughters for the series finale.
Documenting the Fox comedy’s final days in production, series star Amanda Fuller revealed on Instagram that former series regular Kaitlyn Dever — aka Eve — will appear in the very last episode, which is currently in production. The swan song, titled “Keep On Truckin’,” was written by none other than Tim Allen.
The video, soundtracked to R.E.M.’s “It’s the End of the World as We Know It (and I Feel Fine),” features footage from the very last virtual table read, which includes Fuller and Dever alongside Allen (Mike), Nancy Travis (Vanessa), Molly McCook (Mandy No. 2), Christoph Sanders (Kyle), Jordan Masterson (Ryan), Jonathan Adams (Chuck), Hector Elizondo (Ed) and recurring guest star Jay Leno (Joe).
Travis posted a photo of the cast (minus Dever) outside Last Man‘s soundstage Thursday, with the following caption: “Finishing up nine seasons of a special show.” McCook, meanwhile, shared another group shot from the Baxters’ kitchen, captioned “Fam. Forever 🤍”
Dever, whose star rose exponentially in 2019 thanks to leading roles in the feature film Booksmart and the Netflix miniseries Unbelievable, has only made a handful of appearances since Last Man made the leap to Fox. She last showed up via a Zoom cameo in the pandemic-themed Season 9 opener.
Prior to the finale, Dever will return in the flesh for the April 8 episode, in which Eve comes home and struggles to connect with her nieces, Sarah and Evelyn.

Is Boyd going to appear or are they even going to acknowledge his existence? He was a fairly regular character for a while.
.
As for Kaitlyn Dever I first noticed how talented she was on Justified.
I wonder if the original Mandy will appear as a different character, kind of like Sarah Chalke on the Roseanne revival
Oh if only, IF ONLY!
Loved the original Mandy. Never could get used to an incredibly tall blonde playing Mandy.
Totally!
Molly Ephraim rules!!!
Took me 3 seasons to get used to Amanda Fuller – so excellent was Alexandra Krosney as the original Christine in the show’s first season.
Still feel the show shouldn’t have continued without Ms. Ephraim.
Better could have been to wait until she’d be free from the obligations that came with the signing of her contract during the show’s hiatus.
Totally agree! She was never “Mandy” to me either.
TOTALLY AGREE! The original Mandy was the BEST!! I could not get used to the new one either.
I agree. She is the totally opposite of the original Mandy.
And how about the original Kristin?
Or any of the other Boyds?
As with Mandy, they didn’t even try to get an actress even remotely like the original. Who was perfect. The original three sisters were so believable as sisters. The show missed the mark when they cast the new Kristin and Mandy.
again the reason they went with a new kirstin is the entire cast hated her not just tim, so unless she pulls a will smith and aplogized to the entire cast you will never see her, because none of them liked her
again the orignal mandy maybe but the orignal kirstin outside of her doing what will smith did with the orignal aunt viv and burying the hatchet will never happen as the entire cast hated her and were happy when she was re-cast
When the talented and charming Molly Ephraim (the original Mandy) was replaced on this show, everyone said it was because she was going off to become a big movie star.
And then, when no one was looking, Kaitlyn Dever actually did go off and became a big movie star.
It’s true that in Hollywood, nobody knows anything.
again blame dungey who was the show runner and even when they were in negotians to bring back molly ephriam she admitted, she would’ve had a smaller role then katylin dever has had
This show changed kids better than a Vacation Movie
Really going to miss this show. Im so bummed its ending! 😞
I hope Boyd shows up or at least get a mention
Why??? When you have a nice clean, wholesome, funny, and relate-table show do they choose to take it off the air? Is it because it doesn’t have killing, cops, fire fighters, or emergency people as the main focus? Must be, because there certainly is plenty of those. If we had more shows like LMS, maybe our world wouldn’t be quite so messed up! I’m just glad there are other TV stations that will show re-runs. Long live LMS!!! Thanks for many years of enjoyment and memories.
because tim and the cast agreed it was time to end, and much like home improvement where everyone could’ve gotten big raises but they’ve run out of story ideas and it’s better to end now then plummet in the ratings and to me they have kind of run out of ideas but again it’s not often that you get to do two shows that go over 150 episodes, i mean it used to be if a show got 100 episodes it was an accpolmishment, but tim has had 2 hit shows
Due to the fact the show had lost a biggest share of viewership after casting a new “Mandy”.
Take the revamped “Will & Grace”, for example – the show was not brought back until ALL of the leads were able to return.
Great show, second favorite all time, but it’s run its course.
I hope the truck that’s been looking for a parking spot for 9 yrs finally finds one.
Tim Allen’s garage. It’s his.
Wish Molly Ephraim would be on the last show. I understand why she didn’t return after ABC dropped the show. Love Molly as she really did her part extremely well without being silly. Her replacement is very silly, I suppose it’s written that way.
Sorry for the show to end, it’s one of my favorites.
Liberal views killing good television, Last Man Standing will be missed
Donald Shinn, indeed I believe you are correct.
I understand and respect the decision to wrap up the series, but…I’M HEARTBROKEN!!! Great
TV programming has lost its way over the last 3 or so decades and LAST MAN STANDING, Tim & entire cast created the best show on TV…alway has been, always will be through (I hope) in syndication. I’m gonna miss the “H-E-double hockey sticks” out of the Baxters.
:-( ♡
Nooooooooooo! Please don’t go. I love this show and all the cast especially Tim Allen
I so miss the original Mandy. I tried watching with the new Mandy a few times, but it was like fingernails on a blackboard.
I’m sure that actress is a nice person and all that, but the comedic timing of Mandy #1 was equivalent to ‘Chandler’ on Friends, or Jack Benny.
Haven’t missed an episode! Such an enjoyable family show with a great cast!😁😁 Good Luck to all in the future!
Liked this show from the start, clever comedy with a great cast.
Where IS Boyd this season? They don’t even mention his name. They have made Ryan’s character almost unlikeable now. He’s such a wise guy now.
Please keep Jay Leno off the show. That guy sucks the comedic energy out of everything.
So incredibly sad to see the show end they picked the worst time to disappoint the fans this was a show that made us happy in a terrible time we were going through. Loved that jay leno was on jay and tim are my dream team! Will miss the cast will be nothing to look foward to in the fall of2021 so sad and disappointing
Like The Big Bang Theory, both were exceptional shows. But Last Man Standing was a family show. Not too many of them on anymore. This was a show my family never missed. I am so sad to see this show ending. It had everything. I would love to know why it was decided to end. Thank you Tim Allen and the entire cast for 9 wonderful years of watching a fantastic show.
Many of us would love to see Molly Ephraim back for the last episode of Last Man Standing. We have really missed her!!! Show hasn’t been quite the same since she left.
This show last man standing is sure going to be missed alot. The actors on the show grew as the show went on,so much love and friendship.gonna miss them..good luck on all your endeavors.
God Bless !!!!!.
Wouldn’t it be great if there was a spin-off with everyone but Mike and Vanessa? I think it would be great!
We love Last Man Standing! We have watched ever episode and watch recordings of the seasons. Too bad good clean family shows have to end. We will miss it and all the characters!!!!!
Oh Susan, you are so right!
‘Last Man Standing’ is really the last TV situation comedy on broadcast television to be, in any way, “family- friendly.” All other TV sitcoms nowadays are produced as Marxist propaganda, and blatantly, obviously so, with aim of destroying the nuclear family and middle-class, American way of life.
One will probably never again see (on broadcast TV anyway) a TV sitcom having families like “The Cleavers” of ‘Leave it to Beaver’, “The Andersons” of ‘Father Knows Best’ and “The Seavers” of ‘Growing Pains’, with two, still happily-married Caucasians of the opposite (biologically born) sex. All TV sitcoms in the present have a combined majority of Asian, black, Spanic and so-called “LGBT” characters, with “straight” Caucasian couples only used as tokens, and often in a disparaging manner.
Methinks it is long past time for a new Family Channel TV network. I just recently saw a commercial promoting a TV series called ‘Teenage and Pregnant’, the young mother in that plug sporting multiple tattoos and shrapnel (piercings) all over her body. No wonder so many more kids today are screwed up, having parents who appear like that. Of course such freakish appearances are merely symptomatic of mental illness anyway. Give me the nice dresses and pearls worn by a “June Cleaver” and the stylish pantsuits and neat hairstyles of a “Carol Brady” any day of the week. Yes, appearances DO matter. And both “Mike and Vanessa Baxter” showed us that responsible adults with good morals and happy, faithful marriages can and do still exist.
I agree mostly. I think Young Sheldon on CBS is now the last family-friendly show on TV…free from overt sexuality, adult topics and wokeness.
