Kai Havertz has now done something at Arsenal he never did during three seasons as a Chelsea player

Kai Havertz has now been an Arsenal player for nine months, but we’re sure Chelsea fans are still looking across London to see how their former player is getting on.

Kai Havertz spent three years as a Chelsea player, with the crowning moment of his career with us being the goal he scored to win a Champions League final back in 2021.

However, the attacker was pretty inconsistent during three years as a Blues player, receiving a fair amount of criticism along the way.

We think most Chelsea fans were pretty pleased when rivals Arsenal paid £65 million (Sky Sports) to sign Havertz last summer.

The 24-year-old attacker now looks like he’s found a home that suits him at the Emirates Stadium, though.

Mikel Arteta unlocking potential

Chelsea fans only saw in occasional glimpses Havertz at full tilt. It was frustrating because he’s got exquisite technique and he works so hard off the ball, but he was too regularly a passenger in a blue shirt.

But there’s now a consistency and regular quality from Havertz in Arsenal colours.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is now using the versatile German attacker as his main centre-forward, which is getting the best out of him with his link-up play and work in the box.

FootballTransfers claimed last month that Arteta was desperate to sign Havertz and bring him into his squad because he was confident he could get the best out of him. You’ve got to give him credit because he’s got his wish and delivered on his promise.

Kai Havertz has beaten his Chelsea record

Chelsea fans will have their head in their hands when they hear what Havertz achieved last night.

He assisted Martin Odegaard’s goal with a well weighted pass during Arsenal’s 2-0 win at home to Luton Townn in the Premier League.

It takes his tally up to eight goals and four assists in the league so far this season, which is more than he achieved during any of his three years at Chelsea.

It looks like Havertz has finally cracked the code in English football, but it’s taken several years and a change of club to do it. He’s still got eight more games to add to his G/A tally in the league this season.

For the Blues, it’s time to look forward and hope for some inspiration from their own frontline.
