Ehwa Student tripleS’ YooYeon Shares Stories of College Decisions and Being an Idol Because of BLACKPINK

YooYeon, a member of the girl group tripleS, confessed the hardships she faced while taking the CSAT and how she chose to be an idol.

On the 17th, a video was posted on the YouTube channel 'Mimiminu' featuring tripleS’ YooYeon with the title that goes along with ‘... An active idol group member who entered Ewha Woman's University regularly after passing the 3rd attempt.' In this video, YooYeon opened up about her college entrance exam biography in the content hosted by her entrance exam and education YouTuber Mimiminu.

Previously, YooYeon dropped out of the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at Dongguk University.

She was so into liberal arts that she had received awards for English and writing since she was a child. "I've been to New Zealand and the United States for language training for about a year,"

YooYeon confessed, “I went through a stressful period while preparing for foreign language high school in middle school. One time, my English score was 80, so I gave up and went to Sehwa Girls’ High School.” Sehwa Girls' High School is an autonomous private high school located in Gangnam, Seoul, and is a prestigious high school commonly referred to as 'Gangnam District 8'.

The idol also revealed that she wanted to study Astronomy at Seoul National University when she was in high school, “I lay down on the playground with a friend, and I saw stars, which made me think, but the reason I chose science is because I am a person who lives life with style.” she answered cutely.

When she was admitted to Ewha Woman's University after three attempts, when asked how she chose an idol's career, YooYeon answered, “When I was taking online classes, I wondered why I was listening to things I was not interested in. I think I was sick of English class,” she continued.

“I came home and watched BLACKPINK’s documentary and decided on my path.”

When YooYeon appeared on MBC's survival audition program 'Excitement After School', she was still starting and grasping the trainee-idol life, yet ranked 8th. As time went by, she gradually improved and became very popular. YooYeon debuted with her multinational girl group tripleS in 2022 as the fifth member under three sub-groups: Acid Angel from Asia, EVOLution, and ACID EYES.

Meanwhile, tripleS is set to come back on the 8th of May as a full 24-member group.
