I love all things by Joss Whedon. Titan books has produced beautiful books. I bought all 3 Firefly Visual Companions, the Serenity Companion, I even bought The Cabin in the Woods Official Visual Companion.
So I ordered this book. I loved Much Ado About Nothing before Joss made this movie. This movie was wonderful and I saw it in theaters 10 times.
I was very disappointed when I got this book. It is simple, basic and completely insufficient. So much is lacking. I am hoping and crossing my fingers that an Official Visual Companion will come.
It feels like opening a present, you know what it is, it's something you really want and instead you are wrong and the present is lame.
The basic content is a letter by Joss, an interview w/ Joss and a ton of small, black & white pics of behind the scenes w/out any caption or reference, no words whatsoever. Then there are pictures of Cast, not good pics more like random shots and I know there are better shots. The pic is of each Cast, the name and role. Then the Screenplay including a few pics and the end is more behind the scenes pics. There is a group pic that should be 8.5x11 and in color.
I want a visual tour of the set aka Joss' home.
I want interviews w/the Cast.
I want a better layout.
This book was probably thrown together in a day and cost the bare minimum.
Just know what you are buying is Not an Official Visual Companion. I am so disappointed.

This is a vibrant, engaged, and engaging adaptation. There's a short introduction by Whedon and a very good interview as well. There are numerous photos from the filming. I'm using this -- and the film itself -- in class to talk about adaptation and it's perfect for that. I wish the photos could have been better reproduced, but glossy paper is much more expensive and there are a lot of pictures in here, so there's no way they could have kept the price down if they went with the better printing.

If you're a fan of Joss Whedon's work, then I don't need to tell you how funny and self-deprecating he can be. The foreward and interview at the beginning of this book are great all on their own, but seeing the screenplay also is fantastic. The film this book is about makes Shakespeare funny and accessible to everyone, and getting an insight into Joss' writing process is fascinating.

Not a fan of Shakespeare but I had to watch this to see Nathan Fillion. Once you stop trying to understand the Shakespeare and just watch the characters it starts to make sense and it becomes a very good movie. Too bad this did not get a wider distribution in theaters. I did see this on the big screen. People laughed and enjoyed this movie.

Joss Whedon continues to amaze and impress. The cast and crew commentary was brilliant - way better than most films which tend to be plodding and only included for hard-core film buffs. This must be the dream-come-true for any producer. I don't know of any other artist who could make such a great film on such a tight schedule with such a limited budget. The end product is infused with the camaraderie and commitment of these highly-skilled, slightly goofy, professionals.

This book is great! In the first part you get a very long Joss Whedon interview and full script of the movie , both containing photos from the set with the cast. Favorite line by Whedon:'' Amy Acker has fabulous nose''

I was desperately waiting to see this as my town did not even get a theatrical viewing. This book gives some nice behind the scenes and during photos as well as an interview with Whedon. I liked having the script to refer to while watching the DVD
