As the captain of the Werkself U19 team, Eze led his teammates to third place in the U19 Bundesliga West last term and the team under head coach Sven Hübscher missed out on second place by just one goal, which would have taken them to the German championship finals. The defender only missed three league games and he went the full distance in all the matches he did play.

Michael Antonio put West Ham United in front early on the night in the quarter-final second leg but Jeremie Frimpong levelled in the 89th minute at the London Stadium. After the 2-0 win in the first leg, the draw was enough for Bayer 04 to progress.
