Life Reflections

Cellis Williams, son of the late Thomas Jesse Williams and Louise Bessie White Williams Brown, was born on Thursday, July 12, 1956, in Andrews, South Carolina. On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at his residence, God called His faithful servant Cellis Williams from labor to reward. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Thomas Williams and Curtis Bernard Williams.

At an early age, Cellis accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Andrews, South Carolina, under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Hermon Gibson. He later became a member of the Church of Christ in Lake City, South Carolina.

“Boobie” as he was affectionally called, received his formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County and graduated from C.E. Murray High School in Greeleyville, South Carolina in 1975. He furthered his education at Williamsburg Technical College (formerly known as Manpower) in Kingstree, South Carolina where he earned his certification in brick masonry. He was employed at Baxter Travenol Laboratory in Kingstree, South Carolina for a number of years before enlisting into the United States Army. After serving his country for two years and receiving an honorable discharge, Boobie returned to the states. He loved to travel and resided in Fort Pierce, Florida, Hershey, Pennsylvania, and Brooklyn, New York.

Boobie loved making others laugh and joking around. In his spare time, he enjoyed: cooking, baking pies, washing his truck, riding out, eating with his friends, and spending time with his family. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cellis leaves to cherish his memories: a wife, Betty Jean Williams of Kingstree, SC; two daughters, Aundrea Wilson of Goose Creek, SC and Chaliava Williams of Brooklyn, NY; three grandchildren: Darien J. Wilson of Goose Creek, SC, Jason V. Mulzac Jr., and Lyric S. Littlejohn, both of Brooklyn, NY; one great-grandson, Tyren J. Wilson of Goose Creek, SC; nine sisters: Thomascenna (Isaiah) Roland of Ft.
