At this unprecedented and perilous moment, several events worldwide have been cancelled out of an abundance of caution & based on the escalation of the COVID-19 pandemic.   • Lionsgate, in conjunction with Fandango, YouTube and NATO, is launching Lionsgate Live! A Night at the Movies a four-consecutive Friday night live-stream of movies which kicks off on April 17 with The Hunger Games on the Lionsgate YouTube page and Fandango’s Movieclips YouTube page. 

  • Pandemic/apocalpytic related tv/movies: Pandemic: How to Prevent an Outbreak on Netflix, Contagion, Outbreak, 12 Monkeys, Flu, The Hot Zone, 28 Days Later, The Omega Man, World War Z

  • Harry Potter Themed Digital Escape Room (FREE)

  • Sonic The Hedgehog will be available for digital purchase on March 31, followed by a 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, DVD and for rental on demand or disc on May 19.

  • Onward, the Disney Pixar animated feature, is being made available online ahead of schedule. The studio will make the film available to buy digitally and on Movies Anywhere for $19.99 March 20 at 5PM PST, and it will be released on Disney+ on April 3 in the U.S.

  • Warner Bros.’ current theatrical release The Way Back joins the pack of recent pics making their way into homes much sooner as the coronavirus crisis has shuttered cinemas nationwide. The pic will be available for electronic sell-through stateside on Tuesday, March 24, which is the same day that Birds of Prey will be made available, at the price of $19.99.

  • Bloodshot will be available for electronic sell through March 24 for $19.99

  • Universal to release The Invisible Man, The Hunt, and Emma on home entertainment services such as On-Demand, Apple & Amazon beginning Friday, March 20 for 48h rental fee of $19.99. Trolls World Tour will be released on April 10, the same day it was scheduled to hit theatres.

  • Birds of Prey and The Gentlemen will be available for digital purchase starting March 24 for $19.99 on platforms like Apple & Amazon. You can also preorder them both at FandangoNOW and plan your next week’s entertainment!

  • Bad Boys For Life will be available in homes as early as March 31 on digital and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray and DVD later on April 21.

  • 20th Century Studios’ The Call Of The Wild and Searchlight Pictures’ Downhill will be available to buy digitally and on Movies Anywhere beginning March 27 in the U.S for $14.99 and $9.99 respectively.

  • The Walt Disney Company will make Frozen 2 available on Disney+ three months early beginning March 15. Stargirl and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker are also now available.

  • Sesame Street‘s Elmo is doing his part to help comfort kids and families during the coronavirus pandemic. Sesame Street: Elmo’s Playdate, a half-hour special, will air across HBO, HBO Latino, TBS, TNT, truTV, Cartoon Network and Boomerang on Tuesday, April 14 at 7 PM ET/PT.

  • One World: Together At Home by Global Citizen featuring a slew of A-list stars will appear on a this major television event to help end COVID-19 and is airing across NBC, ABC and CBS on April 18 @ 8-10PM.

  • Join the Rose Mansion for virtual events weekly.

  • The coronavirus pandemic may have forced Coachella to postpone until the fall, but festival-goers can still get their fix by tuning into a new documentary on the festival set to air on April 10th. Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert premieres at the exact time the doors of the festival would have otherwise opened – April 10th at 12:00pm PST, streaming FREE on YouTube. As its title suggests, the documentary chronicles Coachella’s rich 20-year history, from its humble beginnings as a punk and alt-rock DIY fest to its present day incarnation.

  • Amazon Prime Video and SXSW are joining forces to launch “Prime Video presents the SXSW 2020 Film Festival Collection,” following the unprecedented cancellation of the SXSW Conference and Festivals by the City of Austin due to concerns surrounding the Coronavirus. “Prime Video presents the SXSW 2020 Film Festival Collection” offers filmmakers in the 2020 SXSW Film Festival lineup an invitation to opt in to take part in this online film festival, which will play exclusively on Prime Video in the U.S. for 10-days.   • The DC Cherry Blossom Festival Opening Ceremony co-presented by the Japan Foundation on March 21, will not take place as planned at the Warner Theatre. The Festival is looking at options including live streaming the event. Stay tuned.
