JOHN WARNOCK, 81, passed away peacefully at Garden Terrace nursing home, Houston on August 3, 2010 after a long battle with dementia. John was born August 2, 1929 in Strathaven, Scotland, and worked in Montrose and Edinburgh, Scotland before moving to Houston, Texas in the 1980's.John is survived by Agnes Guthrie, his long-time partner; by daughter Anne and husband Tim; son David and wife Terri; sister Nan; brother Jimmy; cousin Edna; grandchildren Craig, Andrew, Christopher, Rory, Nick and wife Ashlee; great-granddaughter Ava, and many other family members and friends.A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 8th from 3 - 5 p.m. at the Bradshaw-Carter Funeral Home, 1734 West Alabama, Houston, TX followed by a private cremation. In accordance with his wishes, John's ashes will be scattered in Scotland.Agnes, Anne and David would like to offer special thanks to the caring staff at Garden Terrace, The Amazing Place, and John's other devoted caregivers of the past few years.For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, The Amazing Place, Houston, or a charity of your choice.
