In 2007, the couple started a foundation called John and Dyan Smoltz Foundation, which was founded to support Christian organizations. John, said his goodbyes to Dyan Struble together with their four kids after of 16 years of marriage in 2007 though it went against his beliefs as a staunch Christian. As for the reason for their divorce, it is unknown, but the Warren, United States native wrote about it divorce in his book saying, “I found myself in a circumstance I deeply regretted, and one that I honestly never thought I would contribute to the staggering statistics of divorce in professional sports”.
