John Henry Company launches new website for gardeners

Innovative BloomIQ.com will connect gardening enthusiasts with plants and design ideas.

The John Henry Company has introduced BloomIQ.com, a revolutionary new internet resource for novice and experienced gardeners looking for inspiration and practical gardening information.

The site offers designs ideas, plant information and shopping tools to help consumers plant their gardens and find what they need at the garden center.

Recognizing that gardeners are looking for help in designing containers, window boxes, hanging baskets or garden beds -- and in selecting plants for their particular growing conditions -- the designers of BloomIQ.com crafted a site that features browsable garden collections, searchable plant information and useful tips for selecting plants.

Developed by gardening experts, the site has a design collections link that features a selection of popular gardening themes based on color palettes, light conditions, wildlife and more. The site also highlights individual plants that offer new and exciting garden possibilities. Gardeners looking for specific plants can search for useful care information and ideas for companion plants.

In addition to the website, BloomIQ.com is available as a full merchandising program from the John Henry Company. The program includes branded tags with a website address and 2D barcodes that link the tag to the BloomIQ.com website. Tags can be customized with plant photos and combination plant suggestions using Image Ease design templates, John Henry's online 24/7 ordering system.

"We are excited about the launch of BloomIQ.com, which speaks to a new generation of gardeners and invites them to explore creative possibilities," said Kristi Huffman, vice president of John Henry Horticulture. "With the direct ties the site creates with gardeners, we are looking forward to gaining insights into their interests and priorities, which we can share with our customers."

Erin Willigan, vice president of marketing at John Henry, said BloomIQ.com will connect gardeners with plants in new, innovative ways: "By connecting with gardeners at home through the website and at the garden center through the plants tags, we are uniquley positioned to assist in both planned and impulse purchases."
