However, rumours soon began to swirl around the two when they kept being caught in the same country at the same time. True, Son had been in Europe playing for his team, while Jisoo was touring the continent with Blackpink. But was it really always coincidence?

Most recently, the two were linked again in October 2021, when they both flew into South Korea from Europe to meet their respective schedules. Jisoo had finished up her duties at Paris Fashion Week with Dior and returned to her homeland on October 5. Son had flown back to South Korea to play in a 2022 Fifa World Cup Asia qualifier on October 7 – although media noted that he returned on October 5, the same day as Jisoo. Not only that, but he had specifically flown in on the flight from Paris, rather than London, where his team are based.

YG Entertainment swiftly issued a denial the day the rumours broke. They stated, “We would like to clarify that all the dating rumours related to Blackpink’s Jisoo are not true. We have been aware of the rumours circulating. Considering that it has become widespread, among international fans as well, we now believe the situation calls for an official statement. Please stop the unreasonable spread of false rumours.”

So what’s the truth?

This is not the first time Son has been rumoured to be dating someone from the entertainment industry. Previously, he was linked to actress Yoo So-young in 2015, and Girl’s Day’s Minah in 2014. He acknowledged his relationships publicly on both counts, but his relationship with Jisoo has seemingly been kept completely private.
