Jim Carrey Goes On Twitter Rant Against California's Vaccination Law

Trending News: Jim Carrey Believes California's Vaccination Laws Are Dumb and Dumber

Why Is This Important?

Because Jim Carrey is a powerful voice against the controversial new vaccination bill.

Long Story Short

Film star Jim Carrey has launched into an angry tirade on Twitter, blasting the new vaccination laws in California and labeling Governor Jerry Brown a ‘corporate fascist.’ He claims vaccinations are ‘poisoning children with mercury and aluminum.’

Long Story

Jim Carrey may have made his name with his hyperbolic comic rants in films such as The Mask and Ace Ventura but there was nothing funny about his latest tirade.

The Canadian star took to Twitter to lambast California’s controversial new bill, which makes vaccinations compulsory for all school children, removing the right to refuse due to religious or personal beliefs.

California Governor Jerry Brown passed the bill, SB 277, earlier in the day, insisting that ‘the science is clear that vaccines dramatically protect children against a number of infectious and dangerous diseases,’ but Carrey made his stance very clear.

He has 14.7 million followers.

Carrey then followed up by explaining his side of the debate.

It has been suggested by sites such as The Wrap that Carrey’s anger may be traced back to his relationship with model Jenny McCarthy, who believes her son developed autism as a result of vaccinations and is very outspoken on the issue. McCarthy’s claim has been denied by the Centers for Disease Control, but is backed up by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in his book Thimerosal: Let the Science Speak which cites 39 studies which demonstrate a link.

The high-profile anti-vaccination law campaign, also backed by the likes of Selma Blair and Kirstie Alley, could cause some problems for Gov. Brown, who should realize that Jim Carrey isn’t an easy man to keep quiet.

Unfortunately.
