Jennifer Lawrence won the best actress Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards in LA, for her role in Silver Linings Playbook.

She defeated a strong lineup, which included 86-year-old Emmanuelle Riva from Amour and Jessica Chastain, star of Zero Dark Thirty.

In Silver Linings Playbook, Lawrence played a troubled wannabe dancer opposite Bradley Cooper, in a romance-cum-comedy directed by David O Russell.
