“My early childhood memories were of heaviness and chaos. My mother’s feelings were so uncertain it was like a tightrope every day. The mood fluctuations were daily,” revealed the “Empty Inside” podcast host.

“I didn’t know how to find my identity without my mother,” she said. “And I’m not going to lie. It was so hard to get here. But now, I’m at a place in my life I never would have imagined. And I finally feel free.”

This isn’t the first time McCurdy has opened up about childhood trauma at the hands of his mother. In July, she appeared “Mayim Bialik’s breakdown,” where she revealed that she started eating less based on her mother’s guidance.
