ST. LOUIS — Hunter Renfroe hit a go-ahead RBI triple and scored on a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning on Saturday to carry the visiting Milwaukee Brewers to a 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Brewers won for the third time in four games to move within a half-game of the National League Central-leading Cardinals.

Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes allowed one run on four hits in seven innings. Devin Williams (4-2) threw a scoreless ninth inning to earn the victory and Matt Bush closed out the 10th for his third save.

Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright held the Brewers to one run on three hits and a walk in nine innings while striking out eight. Giovanny Gallegos (2-5) allowed the two 10th-inning runs (one earned) to take the loss.

In his three previous starts against the Brewers this season, Wainwright allowed 12 runs (11 earned) on 25 hits, including four homers, in just 14 innings. But this time he flirted with a no-hitter.

After Rowdy Tellez drew a two-out walk in the first inning, Wainwright retired the next 18 batters he faced. Andrew McCutchen broke up his no-hit bid in the seventh inning with a two-out single.

Burnes threw 14 scoreless innings while winning his first two starts against the Cardinals this season. He then shut out the Cardinals into the seventh inning of Saturday's game.

St. Louis broke through in the seventh when Paul Goldschmidt hit a single and scored on Nolan Gorman's double to put the Cardinals up 1-0.

Brewers third baseman Luis Urias hit a solo home run to tie the game 1-1 in the eighth inning.

Renfroe hit a triple leading off the 10th to plate automatic runner McCutchen and scored on Kolten Wong's sacrifice fly to put the Brewers up 3-1.

Paul DeJong hit a leadoff single in the bottom of the inning to move automatic runner Gorman to third base. Dylan Carlson's sacrifice fly cut the lead to 3-2, but Bush struck out Yadier Molina and Tommy Edman to secure the win.
