Paramount Reportedly Developing Megatron Spinoff Movie

Paramount Reportedly Developing Megatron Spinoff Movie
After Michael Bay’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Age of Extinction both crossed the billion dollar threshold at the box office, Paramount doubled down on their intentions to launch an entire shared universe around the Autobots and Decepticons by establishing a writers room tasked with expanding the mythology.

Spearheaded by Akiva Goldsman, the roster of talent included Christina Hodson, Ant-Man‘s Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrarri, Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Steven S. DeKnight, The Walking Dead co-creator Robert Kirkman, Iron Man scribes Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s Jeff Pinkner, Marvel regular Zak Penn and Black Hawk Down‘s Ken Nolan, while Geneva Robertson-Dworet would go on to write Captain Marvel.

The experiment was ultimately abandoned having produced just two movies, with Nolan penning The Last Knight and Hodson scripting Bumblebee, making the costly assembly of such well known writers pointless in the long run.

Netflix’s ‘Cowboy Bebop’ Live-Action Series Reimagining Gren as Non-Binary Character

Netflix’s ‘Cowboy Bebop’ Live-Action Series Reimagining Gren as Non-Binary Character
Netflix has revealed the latest round of casting for the upcoming “Cowboy Bebop” live-action revamp, and among them is non-binary actor Mason Alexander Park. Park, who toured nationally with the Broadway version of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” will play fan-favorite character Gren, who will also identify with they/them pronouns. Gren is the right hand to Ana (Tamara Tunie), owner of the hottest underground jazz club on Mars.

In the original Japanese anime series that ran 1997 through 1998, the arc Grencia Mars Elijah Guo Eckener, as they’re known fully, was explored in the two-part episode “Jupiter Jazz.” An aspiring saxophone player at the club known as the Rooster House and a veteran of the Titan War, Gren was subjected to experimental drugs that increased their estrogen and caused them to grow breasts. Gen’s fluid sexual identity ascended the character to a rare LGBTQ representation in anime.

“Revolutionary as the original anime was,

Amazon’s ‘The Lord Of The Rings’ Resumes Production In New Zealand, Netflix’s ‘Cowboy Bebop’ Next
Exclusive: Filming has just resumed in New Zealand on Amazon’s sprawling The Lord Of The Rings TV series, an adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy novels, I have learned. Production on Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop is slated to restart on Wednesday, Sept. 30, in the island country where Netflix’s Sweet Tooth has been shooting since Sept. 14, sources said. The three shows were among handful of Hollywood TV series and movies that were granted border exemptions by the New Zealand government in July to film in the country.

The West Auckland-based The Lord Of the Rings was close to finishing the first two episodes, directed by J.A. Bayona, when production shut down in mid-March amid the escalating global pandemic. As Deadline reported late last year, in conjunction with an early Season 2 renewal for the big-budget fantasy drama, the Lotr series was scheduled to go on a 4-5-month hiatus after filming the first two episodes,

Zoë Kravitz Calls Out Hulu For Lack Of Diversity After ‘High Fidelity’ Cancellation

Zoë Kravitz Calls Out Hulu For Lack Of Diversity After ‘High Fidelity’ Cancellation
Zoë Kravitz is taking a shot at Hulu’s on-screen diversity record over the cancellation of her series, High Fidelity, after one season.

In a response to fellow actress Tessa Thompson’s reaction to Kravitz’s Instagram post on the cancellation, Kravitz wrote, “At least hulu has a ton of other shows starring women of color we can watch. oh wait.”

While Hulu has recently added such series as Wu-Tang: An American Saga, featuring a predominantly Black cast, Ramy Youssef’s Ramy, and Love, Victor, with a Latinx title character, the leads in those series are all male.

Kravitz also received support from screenwriter and actor Lena Waithe, who wrote, “Nooooooo!!! I rarely find shows that genuinely impress me. This one did. I told you how much I loved this show. And I still do. This one definitely deserved another season.”

Questlove, the drummer of The Roots, added his sentiments on the cancellation.

In addition to starring, Kravitz executive produced the series, a reimagining of Nick Hornby’s 1995 novel and the 2000 John Cusack movie. Kravitz played Rob, a record store owner in the rapidly gentrified Brooklyn neighborhood of Crown Heights who revisits past relationships through music and pop culture, while trying to get over her one true love.

‘High Fidelity’ Canceled After One Season

‘High Fidelity’ Canceled After One Season
Hulu’s High Fidelity series, starring Zoë Kravitz, has been canceled after one season, Variety confirmed on Wednesday evening.

Kravitz starred as Rob, a pop culture-obsessed record store owner in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, who confronts several past failed romances. The show was a gender-bending, modern retelling of the Nick Hornby novel, later adapted into a 2000 film — starring John Cusack and Kravitz’s mother, Lisa Bonet — and it earned praise from critics during its lone season.

The show was created by Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka, who executive-produced with Kravitz, Josh Appelbaum,

High Fidelity” starring Zoe Kravitz has been canceled by Hulu after one season, Variety has confirmed.

The series was a gender-bending, modern reimagining of the 2000 film starring John Cusack, with Kravitz playing his role. She starred as Rob, a pop culture-obsessed owner of a record store. Jake Lacy, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and David H. Holmes rounded out the cast of the lone season, which was critically praised.

The TV series was created by Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka, who executive produced with Kravitz and Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg from Midnight Radio.

Originally ordered to series more than two years ago, “High Fidelity” was initially being developed as a Disney Plus show. However, it moved to Hulu in April 2019 after Disney took control of the competing streaming site. The adult themes in the series made it a better fit for Hulu than the typically PG-focused, family-friendly shows on Disney Plus.

‘High Fidelity’ Canceled By Hulu After One Season

‘High Fidelity’ Canceled By Hulu After One Season
High Fidelity, starring and executive produced by Zoë Kravitz, will not be getting a second season on Hulu. I hear the cast and production team of the series, a reimagining of Nick Hornby’s 1995 novel and the 2000 John Cusack movie, were notified of the cancellation today.

The decision was not easy and came after lengthy deliberations, I hear. The show, which has been well received by critics and is headlined by a big star with a massive following in Kravitz, had internal support at Hulu, whose brass took extra time to mull a potential renewal, with sibling ABC Signature extending the options on the cast by a month to accommodate that.

In the end, the streamer opted not to proceed with a second season. Finding another home for the show is considered a long shot, I hear.

‘Project Blue Book’ Ending After Season 2 On History; ‘Knightfall’ Cancellation Confirmed

‘Project Blue Book’ Ending After Season 2 On History; ‘Knightfall’ Cancellation Confirmed
Project Blue Book fans will be left with a few questions after History cancelled the Aidan Gillen-fronted drama.

The second season of the UFO drama ended on March 24 with Gillen’s Dr. Allen Hynek searching for his colleague Capt. Michael Quinn, played by Michael Malarkey, who was evidently blown to bits by an underwater explosion.

However, the A+E Networks’ cable network has opted not to pursue a third season of the show.

The show was created by David O’Leary, who served as writer and executive producer alongside writer-showrunner Sean Jablonski, Zemeckis, Jackie Levine and Barry Jossen.

Produced by A+E Studios and Compari Entertainment, Project Blue Book is inspired by the personal experiences of Dr. J. Allen Hynek (Gillen), a brilliant college professor recruited by the U.S. Air Force to spearhead this clandestine operation — Project Blue Book — that researched thousands of cases, more than 700 of which remain unsolved to this day.

How Can a One Punch Man Movie Work?

How Can a One Punch Man Movie Work?
One Punch Man is one of the most popular anime of recent years, with everything from the series’ silly name to its protagonist’s basic design catching people’s attention. Initially created as a webcomic by One, One Punch Man is a humorous action series that centers around an incredibly strong hero by the name of Saitama, but he’s more commonly known as One Punch Man since he can defeat any opponent in a single blow. Saitama is a bored and depressed hero who longs to find someone who actually amounts to a challenge in battle. It’s a clever subversion of the increasingly strong nature of heroes and villains in anime.

The One Punch Man franchise consists of two seasons, a video game, tons of ancillary material, and a rabid fanbase who are devoted to the meta anime series and its post-modern take on the superhero genre. While

BossLogic's One Punch Man Movie Fan Art Reteams The Rock and Kevin Hart

BossLogic's One Punch Man Movie Fan Art Reteams The Rock and Kevin Hart
With the news dropping recently that a live-action adaptation of the popular manga-turned-anime series One Punch Man is going into development, everyone is now wondering who will be cast to play the titular bald superhero Saitama and his cyborg sidekick Genos. Well, the incredibly talented artist Bosslogic is here with his answer...Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and his small-statured collaborator Kevin Hart.

The BossLogic artwork depicts Johnson donning the yellow and red outfit worn by One Punch Man, and even gives him the weary side-eyes that have become so synonymous with Saitama as he searches for an opponent that will prove a challenge. Hart meanwhile has been given the feathered blonde mop and lifeless yellow eyes of Genos, as well as his trendy high collar. Both actors look hilarious and are woefully miscast, as was obviously Bosslogic's intention, but still, there is something that is so wrong about the image that feels so right.
