A fan stopped WWE RAW last night to tackle superstar Seth Rollins, now he's in custody

If you thought a "heel" (wrestling lingo for a bad guy) was only getting boos in the wrestling world, last night proved otherwise.

During a live recording of Monday Night RAW at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, WWE superstar Seth Rollins was attacked by a fan.

After a heated match with Finn Balor, Rollins was headed backstage before the fan hopped a barricade and tackled Rollins on the entrance ramp.

The incident was caught on network cameras briefly during Raw's live recording but caught wind on social media Monday night after fellow fans caught the madness on camera while the show went on. Rollins' attack was the talk of the town on Twitter, and WWE stars like MVP provided insight on Instagram about the wild event and similar events like it.

The fan, who's currently unidentified, was swarmed by a referee and WWE security. He was later being taken into custody and in held in Brooklyn, an NYPD spokesperson said. The WWE followed up by releasing a statement after the attack, stating that the fan would be "prosecuted to the fullest extent," according to a tweet by wrestling reporter Marc Raimondi. However, charges are currently pending.

This isn't the first time Rollins has had weird fan interactions like this and definitely not the first for the WWE and the wrestling world in general. There was that time another fan walked alongside him on an episode of Raw in 2015 when he was the reigning WWE Heavyweight and U.S. Champion. The WWE has also had several incidents similar to this, with memorable moments being the time Triple H saved Linda McMahon from a fan attempting to approach her, as well as the legendary moment Eddie Guerrero punched a fan for trying to push him off a ladder.
