Truly Awful Hollywood Crime Scene Pictures
Hollywood seems like a place of glitz, glamour, and beauty - but that doesn't mean there isn't a dark side. With all the perks of being a celebrity come the downfalls: the jealousy, the drug addiction, the obsession. These Hollywood stars didn't have a fairytale ending. Many of them died at the hands of a brutal killer, some of them died after battling with drug addiction.
What makes these death even scarier is the shocking photos of the crime scenes. These photos are made even more heartbreaking when you realize these people were some of the brightest actors, comedians, and musicians of their time.

"The Black Dahlia" was the nickname given to the murdered Elizabeth Short, an aspiring actress killed in 1947. Her body was mutilated and cut in half, in addition to being drained of blood and scrubbed. The murderer was never found, making it one of LA's most famous cold cases.
"It was pretty gruesome," recalled Brian Carr, a detective who worked on the case. "I just can't imagine someone doing that to another human being."

One of the most famous Hollywood murders of recent memory was that of Lana Clarkson, the actress and model. On February 3, 2003, she was found dead of a gunshot wound in the mansion of famed record-producer Phil Spector. While he claimed she "kissed the gun" and that it was an accidental suicide, others – including prosecutors – disagreed and, he was convicted of her murder.
The Murders Of Nicole Brown And Ron Goldman
The OJ Simpson trial may have eclipsed the crime scene itself, but the photos of Nicole Brown are not for the faint of heart. Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman were murdered outside of Brown's home in 1994. Simpson was acquitted at trial, but he is still believed by many to be guilty. Following the criminal case, Goldman's family won a civil suit against Simpson for the murder.

In one of the most infamous Hollywood slayings, four people from Charles Manson's gang killed the pregnant Sharon Tate (an actress and the wife of director Roman Polanski) as well as four of her friends and her gardener's acquaintance.
Though Tate begged for the life of her unborn baby, she was told, "Look b*tch, I don't care about you. I don't care if you are having a baby. You are going to die and I don't feel a thing about it." Her blood was later used to write "PIG" on the front door.
The photos make for some truly horrific viewing.

Elisa Lam's body was found in a hotel water tank in 2013, but little is known about how or why she got there. A disturbing video was released of her erratic behavior in the hotel elevator beforehand in which she shakes her head and flails her arms, leading to internet speculation about what happened. The case has never been solved.
American Horror Story had a storyline inspired by the incident, as well as by the Cecil Hotel's long and spooky history.
The Murder Of Gianni Versace
On the morning of July 15, 1997, renowned Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace was returning to his palatial home in South Beach, Florida, when he was approached by a man named Andrew Cunanan and shot twice execution style. The murder took place on the steps of Versace's estate, and photos of the aftermath circulated widely, with the stairs becoming an altar of remembrance for mourners after the event.
