Jenelle Evans has struggled with relationships since her teen years. When she first appeared on Teen Mom 2, she was pregnant with her first child and no longer in a relationship with his father.
Jenelle has a long list of love interests and one of the most memorable and tumultuous relationships she's endured was with Nathan Griffith. The couple shares a son, Kaiser, and has had more than than fair share of drama over the years. Here's a timeline of their messy relationship.
10 June 2013 - A Match Made In Heaven?
In June 2013 Jenelle split with her previous boyfriend Courtland and was looking for someone new. She met up with Nathan Griffith on Tinder the couple seemed like a match made in heaven. Jenelle seemed happy and there was hope that things would turn around for her.
9 August 2013 - Failed Drug Test
A few months after meeting Nathan, Jenelle was arrested for failing a drug test. She tested positive for marijuana and it appeared as if Nathan wasn't as good an influence on her as everyone had thought. The couple stayed together and seemed to be enjoying their partying lifestyle.
8 December 2013 - Breech Of Peace
Jenelle and and Nathan stayed together throughout 2013 and while she managed to keep somewhat of a low profile, it wasn't long until things became heated between the couple. In December, the couple announced that they were expected and just a few days later the police were called to their home for a dispute. Jenelle was arrested for breech of peace and was removed from the home in handcuffs.
7 June 2014 - Baby Number Two
In June 2014, baby Kaiser was born and the couple seemed to be thrilled with his arrival. Jenelle was enrolled in school and studying to become a surgical assistant and claimed to be in a much better place where she was ready to be a mom. The couple announced the arrival of their son on social media.
6 May 2015 - Domestic Violence
Things didn't get better between the couple after the birth of their son. They were still arguing and fighting a lot and the fights were known to turn violent. In May 2015, one particular fight results in Jenelle being arrested for first-degree criminal domestic violence against Nathan. She turned herself in and Nathan decided to drop the charges. A few months later, Nathan was arrested for domestic violence against Jenelle and the couple eventually went their separate ways.
5 August 2015 - Assault Charges
By August 2015 Jenelle and Nathan has split up and Nathan was dating Jessica Henry. Nathan and Jessica went to Jenelle's house to pick up some of Nathan's belongings. Jenelle and Jessica got in an argument and Jenelle ended up throwing a glass at her. Jenelle was arrested for assault and spent the night in jail.
4 May 2019 - Kaiser Removed From Custody
Jenelle and Nathan kept their distance and managed to stay civil for the sake of Kaiser. Jenelle eventually found a new boyfriend, David Eason and had her third child with him in 2016. The couple eventually married. Things continued to be rocky for Jenelle but Nathan managed to stay out of the spotlight for a while. In May of 2019 Jenelle posted on Instagram and claimed that her husband had shot her dog after it has bit their daughter. As a result of the allegations, Child Protective Services removed Kaiser and Jenelle's daughter from the home. Nathan was given temporary custody of Kaiser.
3 July 2019 - Kaiser Goes Back To Jenelle
Kaiser remained with Nathan for a couple months. He turned five years old while in his father's custody and Nathan threw a birthday party and even invited Jenelle and David to attend. In July, Jenelle regained custody of her children and Kaiser went back to live with her and David. Nathan was not thrilled with the decision and vowed to get him back. He was emotional at times but later posted on Twitter, "I've calmed down a bit and just relying on my faith at this moment."
2 July 2020- Nathan Hit With Restraining Order
Things stayed quiet between the couple for a while and it seemed as if they were co-parenting well despite of a custody disagreement. In July 2020, Nathan had a run-in with the law of his own. A female friend restraining order request against him and accused him of unwanted and unwelcome contact. The unnamed woman said,
“He has shown a pattern of harassment via social media and text which he then follows up by arriving at my residence where he is unwanted, drunk, belligerent and verbally abusive. I am afraid for my safety and that of my child’s. I am afraid that he will act on all of his previous threats. I am asking for help protecting myself and my family.”
At the time Nathan was working on his custody case with Kaiser and his arrest didn't help fight.
1 October 2020 - Custody Agreement Reached
The custody battle over Kaiser was a long one, but the couple eventually reached an agreement in October 2020. Jenelle was granted primary physical custody of Kaiser while Nathan gets him every other weekend. Both parents will share legal custody of their son and are responsible for meeting up for exchanges on their own. Both parties seemed to be happy with the resolution,
With the end of their custody battle, Nathan seemed to take a step back and focus on his new relationship and children. Jenelle announced that she is now back with ex-husband David and is currently in a custody battle with her mother Barbara over her son Jace. She is no longer under contract with Teen Mom but still manages to stir things up on social media and stay in the headlines.
