Jake Paul signs vague contract to join Cleveland Browns

Did the Cleveland Browns really just sign The Problem Child to an NFL contract?

That appears to be true after they welcomed Jake Paul to the team on Friday, sharing a Twitter video of the internet personality and pro boxer pointing to a jersey with his name and No. 00 on the back.

In the clip, which was posted by Paul, he can be seen standing with the Browns’ vice president, JW Johnson, who held the jersey.

“Excited to be on the team @Browns @NFL,” Paul, who is a Cleveland, Ohio native, wrote on Twitter.

The Browns reposted the clip on writing, “Let’s go! Welcome back home.”

Paul shared the same clip to his Instagram Story, writing, “Excited for the next chapter.”

Neither the Browns nor Paul specified what type of contract the pro boxer signed. It’s possible that Paul could be contracted with the team to create content, as he has no prior football experience at the NFL level.

“Crazy news guys. I got a contract with the Cleveland Browns,” Paul said in a separate video before his phone began ringing. It was a FaceTime call from Johnson.

“I’m super excited this a dream come true,” Paul said, to which Johnson responded: “Oh man, we’re fired up. Can’t wait to get you here today and get you to sign that contract and excited to have you be a part of the team man.”

Paul added, “I really appreciate it my man and I won’t let you guys down. Let’s get it.”

After the call ended, Paul looked at his videographer and said, “I’m in the NFL, what?”

Earlier in the day, Paul took to his Instagram Story to share videos of his private plane ride to Cleveland, where he then traveled to the Browns’ facility.

Paul is 6-0 in his pro boxing career after he beat his “idol,” former longtime UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, by unanimous decision last month at Desert Diamond Arena in Arizona.

Last month, Paul’s Most Valuable Promotion brand teased a potential bout with Andrew Tate in a video on Instagram with the hashtag, “PaulTate 2023.”

At the time, Paul shared the same video to Twitter, writing, “Negotiations.”
