I did it via "upgrade" instead of "restore". Should I restore his phone then recover his backup?
Do restore, but if the backup was made on a newer version then 17.3.1 it won’t work you’ll either have to edit the back up file or not go off of back up at all or

honestly i might take the risk. exploits don’t come often especially since a lot of developers have left the jail breaking scene. i found a tweak called AppVersionSpoofer and it does an okay job but i’m not sure if its worth it to stay on such a low version anymore :/ i’ll keep you updated

It’s up to you. If you can live without a jailbreak for some time(could take a year) then maybe yes. If not, don’t update
No no no no I had a 12 mini on 15 and I recently got a 12 with ios 17 I HATE IT I COULDN’T CARLESS FOR THE JAILBREAK, jb has been pointless for a while in my opinion. It’s the new os for me it just feels more like android and I dont like it at all and the older os will probably have better battery and performance

What is your take on the best iOS to presently stay at? iOS17.3, 17.3.1 or 17.4? I'm on iOS 17.3. My iPhone 15 Pro is completely brand spanking new, i.e. zero apps installed or anything - and light browsing with Safari seems to drain my battery fast, as in a few homepages, reading, scrolling ...and every 5 minutes my battery just keep dropping points. Update: I have just updated to 17.3.1. I am thinking of staying here until something more substantial comes out, either jailbreak- or performance-wize.

Apple leaves the previous version signed in case there are issues with the newest update so you can rollback... Apple doesn't want to be in the business of bricking devices, not a good look

Don’t do it man! There is every reason to believe a TrollStore 3 will never happen. We were very very lucky CoreTrust got fucked twice it probably will never ever happen again. Stay on 17.0!
Stay there unless you have problems with watch I did update to latest coz of crazy battery drain on watch. ( i have an ipad on 17.0 so did the update on iphone to have better experience).
Edit: if your watchos is between 10.0-10.3.1 then it is compatible with your ios and can be paired.
